In Your Honest Opinion What Flashlight Company Has The Best Finish

Consider this a poll if you wish. But I was thinking out loud with rikr on the phone earlier(yea we talk about once daily sometimes more) about what flashlights we have that we feel has the best actual finish and knurling and cosmetically looks the best. Well Rick and I both agree that Sunwayman is tops in our book. Out of all the flashlights we have, we both agree that the Sunwayman V60C takes the cake. And the Sunwayman T40CS is very nice as well but not quite as fancy as the V60C. How about you guys? What are your thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for your replies.

Wait 20 years, knock it around, let it slide back and forth on the floor of the truck bed, get a mule's attention a few times with it -- and then decide. Takes a while to tell if the stuff's going to flake off.

Balder, Sunwayman, Jetbeam, Solarforce, Spark .....there too many cool looking lights mfg's to list.

Its all pretty subjective, and even more so with regards to performance.

sunwayman (v60c, t20cs) and zebralight (sc600, h600, h31) are the nicest lights I have..

Leaf followed by Zebralight, Spark and Surefire for the olive colors. Not a land slide though they are all pretty close IMHO.

Fenix is my fave for black typeIII though.

The best type III finishes in my collection at the moment....

One of my nicest finishes is the little CCI AA on the right. It was a promotional give-away from my heatsink supplier CCI, they gave it to me for stopping by and visiting their both at a vendor road show convention. Its got a really nice thick finish that feels like the best lights in my collection, and has a very unique brown/olive/gray color that I have never seen on another light. Its got some small scratches on it, but I pack-carry EDCd it for almost a year.

I probably don't have enough experience or flashlights to make this call, but I'm pretty impressed with the finish on my Balder BD-2, Solarforce (M8,M6,L2P) and N-Light ST-50.

EDIT: I can't forget my one Fenix: L2D. Over 3 years old, been on many a bike ride and the finish is still flawless. I can only imagine their other lights have nice finishes too.

ILF, I would think between you and rikr there are more flashlights to compare than anywhere else, so I'd certainly respect your opinions. Foy and Don also have large collections so I'd like to hear them chime in.

Jetbeam (the PA40) is nicest light in my collection, due to having carbon-fiber reinforced composite body.

I don't have a lot of lights, but the finish on my V10r is the best that I own.

Why thanks for the nice compliment. But Rick has the flashlights. I'm about half of what he's got. But then again I give away some and buy a lot for my son that I don't count. He's probably got 10 or more now. But Rick has gave away a lot too I'm sure.

I can say that the SolarForce Skyline I I have ranks up toward the top as well. Olight SR51 and M3X are very nice too. But Sunwayman has got it going on. They just seem to be perfect in every way from light to light.

Oh and I can't leave out Fenix. My TK41 has a superb finish.

I mean how can you not love a finish like this. No flaws whatsoever. Even the lettering is perfect.

The same goes for the Sunwayman T40CS.

ILF, here's a picture of your future light the STL-V6

As finish goes here's how I see it

1.Sunwayman 2.Fenix 3.Zebralight 4.Thrunite 5.EagleTac 6.Olight

Nitecore ,farka/xeno,edi-t,fenix,ultra-fire C-88

Sunwayman, Jetbeam, Fenix in that order.

My Jetbeam TCR1 is my best finished light

Personally, I think the best and most durable finish is a light with no finish at all i.e. brass, stainless steel, etc. No worries about scratches or wear from pocket carry.

Sunwayman, Jetbeam, Klarus

1)Sunwayman HANDS DOWN

2)Zebralight

3)Fenix

As for budget:

...Solarforce for consistencey.

I've had ultrafires and trustfires what were impressive but I can't say I've seen consistent and repeatable quality out of them.

The Hugsby S-3 I have has a very durable finish and awesome knurling, the EDI-Ts are nice also.

Old school HAIII Surefire lights
