That looks like a sick puppy right there. All those fins sure makes me think it could be driven rather hard without damaging anything. I wonder how much the surface area of that light is. It would be quite cool if it had a turbo mode where the leds got ~ 3 A each even if it is just for 3 minutes.

Of course that would take about 77 watts to the leds. Given a 90% efficient driver it would pull 86 watts off the batteries.

Using 3,7 v batteries in series (11,1V) that would need to pull around 7,75 A at the tail. That also means taking a 7,75 A per battery. So it IS within the limits of good 26650 batteries but it would give a runtime (If we assume it can be run continously at full throttle) of about 30 minutes.

So even if it arrives underdriven a 6x nanjg slave board plus one master board could take care of that. And then making a battery pack 3P1S for the batteries. I wonder if there is room to spare for this in the tube or if it is really tight?

Wait a second... What is wrong?

DAMMIT! I NEED TO CHECK MYSELF AGAIN. I AM NOT GETTING INTO MULTI EMITTER LIGHTS! They are called showerheads. They are called showerheads. They are called showerheads. They are called showerheads. DAMN YOU benckie I am supposed to be on a resisting binge. They are called..........

Its head looks just like my TR-J12 head that handles long runs no problem I'm sure this one could to. I guess it would have the same driver space as the TR-J12 since its the same host i think. I want one !

I wanna buy one too.. I will mod this one with the KD beast driver and compare to my stock J12... Damn addictions, I will never save for the production S1...

I like the UniqueFire one better. U2 led plus 7mm wider head (70 vs 63). The leds are not too crowded

That uniquefire version does look awesome. But it really depends on drive current to each LED, mode memory type and internal construction/heatsinking design. All things which manafont doesn't give information on..

Manafont is one of my fav shop's but i would not rely of there measurements to much as they had the TR-J16 as 149.51mm wide at the head loll.

I really honestly think driven the way these multi led lights are normally your not going to see a difference in light out put the eye can see with the U2,s over the T6's.

It looks the same as the TR-J12 and the Keygos and so on to me. The trustfire TR-3T6 and the TR-J12 have proven to be good reliable lights and that can handle long run times with no heat sinking issues, with mode memory and dimming mode for low voltage.

Just need someone to buy the Uniquefire and this one and measure. :) Don't look at me, I don't have the money to play testing.

The uniquefire is definitely the one with the bigger head diameter (69mm vs 63mm) when measured externally. However....

Uniquefire

Trustfire

So the reflectors are of the same size.

More is better?? It ain't necessarily so....

There looks like no diffrence at all in reflector size to me, just a few mm around the edge that's useless.

Did anyone buy this? It's something I am really interested in, as it costs much less than a thrunite tn30. I wonder if it's brighter?

Anyone?

So is there a drop in with reflector of this type available to put into a tr-j12? I just purchased a trj12 and now i just heard about the trj18. =P

Does anyone have the 18? How bright is the 12?

The TR-J12 is 2200 OTF Lumens ive read on here

I just ordered a TR-J12... I think its a steal at $55 shipped. It was around $80 at the end of 2011, lots of satisfied BLFers since then, and its slowly managed to drop in price since then. I don't think it will dip too much lower than $55, given where the DRY and Skyray King are currently priced.

"Ceiling bounce back lux test: My DRY 5A NW arrived and scored 202lux @ 3,4A tailcap reading(~40w?).

Trustfire TR-J12 scores 298, 50% higher @ 2,2A(~30w)"

Skyray 3*T6: 1610 lumen
Fenix TK70: 2290 lumen
Trustfire TR-J12: 2386 lumen"

member 2100 posted these ceiling bounce numbers after 10 minutes of thermal warming at its highest setting:
"00:00 - 29C - 286lux
05:00 - 42C - 267lux
07:00 - 44C - 264lux
10:00 - 46C - 263lux"

I still don't know how well this compares to the TR-J18 though...????

My TR-J12 might score higher then that

I wonder if your driver is missing any of the current regulation functions and it just give the LEDs 100% of what the battery wants on high?
