blueb8llz, think about that for a minute. I have 3 XHP-70’s in a massive BTU Shocker with that kind of output and it gets HOT! Imagine stuffing them in that small of a light with a direct drive FET driver like I did the Shocker… might possibly be a dangerous scenario! It’ll probably burn your hand in about 30 seconds (maybe even more like 15 seconds!).
I guess I’m getting old. I’m beginning to understand that just because you can does not mean you should.
(Old enough to know better, young enough to not care… :smiling_imp: )
 Hey thanks. That might be the nicest thing anyone has said to me all week! I wish I had camera skills (and equipment) like Mhanlen does!
I’m actually not sure Dale. I will check into that this evening.
I know olight is a profesional e-commerce LED manufacturers while if this sentense ,Boasting 9,000 Lumens from its 3 x Cree XHP70 emitters, is right ,Dose the item will be very hot ?
can someone take a picture side by side with the nitecore TM16GT for size comparison.
The nitecore is the brightest light that i have but it just sits there cause its too big. Will
this blow it away?
Yes, I don’t see it as a pocketable light either. Sure it can go in a jacket or parka pocket. Heck, I pocket my L2 in my barn coat, but that doesn’t fit my definition of pocketable.
Very nice review, Matt! I have an X7 and have a question for you. When I enter Turbo S mode it only brightens for half a second then drops back down to regular Turbo mode. This is with the included Olight high drain cells. I also tested with my 25R cells at full charge and it's the same deal with them. Double-click to enter turbo then double-click again to enter turbo S mode. Brightens for half a second then drops down to regular turbo. Pretty much a useless light for it's claimed 9000 lumens but you are the only one I know who has one. Does yours exhibit anything like this?
I brought the issue to the attention of the dealer that sent it to me for review and they are checking with Olight. I did just upload a quick video demonstrating the issue.
Update: Issue resolved. Contacts all looked spotless but I wiped down the positive contacts in the tail cap (no visible difference) and BAM! Turbo S mode. WTH? Oh well. It's working now. Hopefully this will help someone else that has the same issue I did.
