Brightest Pocketable Flashlight! - Review

Nice video, enjoyed that, thanks for making it!

I’d love to have that flashlight, but in neutral high CRI (and on a budget of course  )

Awesome light. Bet its bux though

I saw over $275 when I googled it.

That is about right. For the light only its like $195, if you want the setup with batteries and charger its $275ish.

Very true. Thanks for saving me $300 lol
How long can you use the shocker on turbo before turning down or off?

To the op, do you have a tn36ut? I’m curious to see a showdown since the two are very similar.

I know olight is a profesional e-commerce LED manufacturers while if this sentense ,Boasting 9,000 Lumens from its 3 x Cree XHP70 emitters, is right ,Dose the item will be very hot ?

Its going to be available in the UK soon for £160 i want one

:+1: good job!

Moobibear sky, Olight used thermal protection to pull the output down and let it cool so it won’t burn your hand or cause problems.

This is good in that it won’t hurt you, but it won’t run at 100% for a long time in a warm environment.

Where to buy in the UK ?

good luck having that in your pocket instead of the included belt holster :stuck_out_tongue:

Torch direct getting them in soon

can someone take a picture side by side with the nitecore TM16GT for size comparison.
The nitecore is the brightest light that i have but it just sits there cause its too big. Will
this blow it away?

Thanks! I guess flashaholics will get them in too.

Yes, I don’t see it as a pocketable light either. Sure it can go in a jacket or parka pocket. Heck, I pocket my L2 in my barn coat, but that doesn’t fit my definition of pocketable.

Very nice review, Matt! I have an X7 and have a question for you. When I enter Turbo S mode it only brightens for half a second then drops back down to regular Turbo mode. This is with the included Olight high drain cells. I also tested with my 25R cells at full charge and it's the same deal with them. Double-click to enter turbo then double-click again to enter turbo S mode. Brightens for half a second then drops down to regular turbo. Pretty much a useless light for it's claimed 9000 lumens but you are the only one I know who has one. Does yours exhibit anything like this?

I brought the issue to the attention of the dealer that sent it to me for review and they are checking with Olight. I did just upload a quick video demonstrating the issue.

Update: Issue resolved. Contacts all looked spotless but I wiped down the positive contacts in the tail cap (no visible difference) and BAM! Turbo S mode. WTH? Oh well. It's working now. Hopefully this will help someone else that has the same issue I did.

I also noticed this issue on one of the X7 videos I watched and wondered if it was the 18650 in his light that couldn’t supply enough juice or there’s more serious problem but since none noticed/commented about it, I didn’t bother to raise that concern anymore. Thanks for confirming my observation and sharing the solution.

It will be very disappointing to receive the X7 and fire up only to find it can’t operate on TurboS as it should.

edit: here’s the vid (link is external) I’m talking about.

Thanks Johnny, that means a lot coming from you  I have found myself on your page several times over the years.

Glad you were able to work out the problem. Sounds like some residue may have been starving your light for current.

Sweet! Pays to clean the contacts with DeOxit or something when pulling mega amps… When all else fails, look to ground…

You might be able to save a little off that when some coupon codes get circulated by dealers. I would PM member M4D M4X, he has had some pretty good ones in the past.
