Should we have yet another GB for BLF-348?

Thanks, but i want no box and no engraving.
And i thought it was gonna be warm white like the previous batch (if i’m not mistaking).

Last one was marked as “5000K” and this will be exactly the same.

Exact tint is a bit below that, see lab results attached: (thank you maukka for testing these!)

Sorry, my bad…

Ah…And that’s supposed to make everything clear to me? lol.

Thanks the

Is it different from this?

Yes it is.

Totally different emitter.

I don’t understand most of that either, but top right > CCT: 4739K

Aha, hadn’t spotted that yet, thanks.

I like this light for the simply stile
But I would prefer model with pillar screwed on body instead a P60 host
Led suffer Heat a bit

Yeah, you mean the thermal path is just as lousy as a P60 light, because the 348 uses the same construction to hold the pill in place…
I guess they do it for easy production because it will always fit like this.

Head of my 348 nichia begin hot fast with fresh alkaline AA (1,5 ampere at tailcap measured)
that is normal current?

Sounds a little high to me, but probably it’s normal.
1.5 Volts x 1.5 Amperes = 2.25 Watts x 75% efficiency of driver (guesstimated) = 1.7 Watts to the LED = approximately 170 Lumen x 60% efficiency of the reflector and lens = 100 Lumen light output.
Hmm… that’s twice the measured output of 48 Lumen.
I don’t know…
Maybe that was 48 Lumens on 1.2 Volts from a NiMH.
(let’s say 1.2 Volts x 1.2 Amperes = 1.44 Watts x 75% eff. driver = 1.1 Watts to LED = appr. 110 Lumen x 60% eff. optics = 66 Lumen …??)

A moonlight, something lowish and a high… no memory, always start on ML

Other than that I still have a BLF-348 , New-In-Box. Don’t really need more.

It’s a nice host that’s proven fairly reliable. My biggest long term concern has been the switch but they seem to hold up pretty well. Given that they have made a classy, reliable host that is mod friendly, I’d certainly order some more. It’s not perfect but for what it does already it ticks a lot of boxes. A must have for modding or off the shelf edc. The upgrades in quality needed to make it superb would take it out of the budget realm.

Some data with the tiny10 dd*:

Low - 200 mA
Med - 600 mA
High - 2A

  • cell at 4.1V

Since this is for pops I think I’ll change it to a tiny10 - 7135 with two chips instead. Should be 86mA, 250mA, 860mA which is more reasonable. He tends to yelp a lot.

Nice work RBD. 860mA sounds very reasonable. :+1:

Hi is a group buy still on ?..
I need a few.
Thanks!.

The group buy was along time ago.

Yes, but he’s thinking of firing it up, yet again!

Thanks David. I hadn’t read that thread.
