*2016-10-19* New: Nitecore LR30

Nice product, one thing missing: in-light micro-USB chargability.

What is the price?
Which LEDs are used?

The leds are probably an array of midpower leds, like used in household bulbs, many manufacturers make good CRI ones.

Sort of interested, but concerned about Nitecore’s inability to make a light with low quiescent standby current that use a soft switch.

It’s their trademark basically…

(Although I’m really, really happy with the original tube)

I like it, but the colors are a bit too childish. would have preferred a black or grey…

Don’t forget olive green

if the price is cheap enough why not. i like the red light. it makes it more outdoor friendly.

hopefully price is less than xtar moon rc2.

This one is kinda cool:

This seems to be a new market i have an RC2 that is similar in function, good light

And with no provision for a mechanical lockout on the LR30, you’re left with a flashlight you can’t leave the battery in (presuming it continues in grand Nitecore fashion). That limits the appeal to me.

So they say they got a patent on the use of a blinking LED to indicate battery voltage.

I bet it wouldn’t be hard to come up with prior art on that if anybody had bothered to look for it.

There are no Einsteins in the patent office.

Wow looks super cheap. Check out the the first pic with the battery compartment exposed, good lord. Looks looks a Fischer price toy or the multiple cheap “flash deals” lights at Banggood or GearBest. High CRI or just shitty LEDs with a “high CRI” diffuser? I would pay $5.99 max just because…SOS and strobe on the thing?! Why?

But it’s a portable multi-meter!!! :sunglasses:
