Jetbeam Jet II MK Review

Glad to hear that I’m not the only one who found the no memory frustrating

Super beamshots. TFS.

yea the no memory is a pain but not a total killer i guess.

Thanks for the review Chris. I have 2 of these coming. Yeah, I don’t think “no memory” is so bad with these small twisty lights, it doesn’t bother me.

Thanks mate!

I might do some thing to the clip. Try and see if i can fix it. Maybe even just bend it slightly so it doesn’t rub. They should have gone with a clip like on the Xtar WK21.

Hey folks i got a really good price on this light PM if you want the details! The Jet II MK is under MAP so i can not post the price here!

My simple mod! it works well. Doesn’t look the best lol!

Nice with the magnets! I thought about getting one of the countersunk magnets and using a tapered flat head 1/4-20 to hold it on the tail, but then it is longer… I like your solution, and I have some of them that size already…

I tried to take the spring out and put a magnet there but it doesn’t work to well to much gap i would prefer for the magnets not to be seen. Plus one magnet is not enough to hold the side ways.

For 4 modes, I'm think'n mode memory would be better. Not sure why they dropped it, since the MK-I has it with only 3 modes.

Not crazy at all bout the clip - it's not a keeper, to lose, spins, etc.

Magnets are a great idea for the tail! I was think'n of sanding.grinding down the tail end and lose the lanyard holes and mount to get it even smaller, but probably won't do it.

I was also thinking about sanding it down but i am not sure how it would look. It would make it heaps shorter.

Sand it down, super glue a 1/16” x 1/2” disk magnet to the back and PlastiDip the rear end and you will have a shorter magnet light. Some good thin cord would make a decent lanyard around the clip groove…

I was just going to angle grind then whole back end of lol

A neck lanyard connected to something like this might be useful. Need to find a swivel loop with shorter threads so it would sit flush. Add a drop of blue locktite to secure it. This II MK is light weight enough to wear around your neck.

This particular swivel is made to attach to a camera

I thought i would update this i got 1.9 amps with a Fandyfire IMR cell on the Jet II MK. Compared to 1.4 amps on the Jet I MK…

Been more than a few comments regarding lack of " mode memory" on this light as the ui always restarts on low. After a bit of use I find I kinda like it. It's an edc, jack of all trades light and it just works. Running EFest 700 mah V2 and it's replaced my 3 yr old Olight i3s EOS as it is superior in all aspects except size. That isn't a negative for the JII Mk as it uses the added size well. I use the light very often but usually not for extended times on high. After a week the battery still reads 4.06v and I cant find fault in that either. I also have the Jet I Mk and Jet μ but haven't given any pocket time to them as the J II Mk does everything I need. Good edc, should be in everyone's rotation (if they do such things).

Rather than shorter threaded swivel, couldn’t a spacer be fab’d? Carbon fiber would look awesome!

That’s a great idea, and one I may well borrow. I’ve got a few camera odds and ends knocking about so may give that a go.

The magnet idea sounds like an interesting one but one of the biggest selling points for this light (so far) for me is just how light it is. I wouldn’t really want to mess with that too much; but then I don’t know how heavya strong enough magnet is.

Also surprised and disappointed that there is no memory function for the JET-II MK!?

I have the JET-μ and JET-I MK lights, both have memory function which is extremely useful! It saves having to cycle through brightness modes every time you want to use the light at a specific brightness level.

With four brightness levels available on the JET-II MK light, I would have thought memory function would have been almost mandatory. But because there is no memory function, every time you want to run this light at a specific brightness level (apart from the default level), it means having to cycle through brightness modes until the brightness level that is wanted is reached. Not convenient!

Was considering getting the JET-II MK light, but as it doesn't have memory function I won't be getting this light.

Wow, no mode memory, that is frustrating.... on the other hand, the Olight i3s, which I like a lot, doesn't have it either, so maybe that is not that mandatory for me... the fact that the jet ii mk starts in low mode is a plus, the i3s starts in medium, which is bad if you wants to use moonlight mode and preserve night vision.

I’m so used to sticking all my multimode lights on low/moonlight/firefly, whatever’s lowest (to keep from getting blinded in the middle of the night), that nothing ever struck me as being amiss.

I’m okay with it. My only gripe, if you can even call it that, is that it’s pretty hard to crank. Definitely gotta 2-hand it, unlike most other twisties I have.

And is just mine, or is the pocket-clip free-spinning in orbit around the II? Doesn’t help when trying to grab the base…

Other than that, I quite like the II.

Hey, anyone ever non-destructively take apart one? I definitely want to swap out the emitter, but dunno if it’d go boom if I tried.

No dome, looks like an XP-L HI, so that’s at least good.
