Thanks for the review. I am on the fence on this one. PWM is a big negative. SB reviewed the XT11S and didn’t notice any PWM. There ad claims constant current.
Question.
If light is on any mode other than turbo , what happens if you slight press main rear switch???
Can you have momentary TURBO while in low, medium or high???
I never had the XT11S, i test it with the slowmotion funcrion of the smartphone camera.
Ok, thats probably not the answer you want to hear but it the light will go out when doing so. when you are on lets say low mode and slighty press the tailcap clicky you will get momentary turbo but the light will go out as soon as you release the tailcap clicky.
Yes, german reviewers in the german flashlight forum discovered it as well. I guess you already heard of the new version of this light, maybe this is without PWM if you are sensitive for PWM.
the new version should also come with the 3100mah IMR cell instead of the protected 3600mah. Like i mentioned earlier i tested the old version with an LG HG2 cell and it was brighter as well.
Some prefer the old one and some the new one. The light was marketed as a 2000 lumen flashlight and it could not reach that claim, i guess thats why they offer the new version now which should be a bit brighter but has less throw since it is the “Hi” Version + it comes with the IMR cell. All those steps should make it brighter, i dont know if it can reach 2000 in the end. Im sure many ppl will test that for sure. I would prefer maybe the new version because i dont care that much about throw
On Monday I ordered an XT11GT from banggood thinking it was the new HD version. I have since noticed that their webpage states both HD and HI on it which is confusing. My confirmation email says that the old HI version has been posted (I have sent banggood an email asking for confirmation on which version it is).
The German forum says that there’s an issue with PWM flickering on the old HI version and there might be a problem with overheating too. If I receive the HI version would I be better off sending it back and getting a new HD version instead?
I have also messaged Going Gear (they have run out of the HI and only have the HD available now).
They said that both versions will be just as reliable but the HI is brighter and will last longer.
