Hi,
A tiny question. Do you prefer plugging a 2-port usb charger directly in a wall outlet or in an outlet strip? It matters because we are carefully considering on which side the LCD display screen should be put for a more convenient reading.
Looking forward to your kind sharing. Many thanks.
Maybe put the display at a 45° angle for both situations?
It depends on the situation, but usually I plug it in the wall.
If you were planning a square, maybe you could cut one corner flat and place the screen on the angle, like this
edit: Jerommel beat me to it. My picture skills are too slow
You guys are so interesting.
Thanks. Thatâs really a nice suggestion :+1: . Since it involves the design and layout of PCB,I need to communicate with our engineers. Thanks again for the help.
PS: I like your succinct picture.
If it helps any, I have a Nikon charger that has a âswivelâ attachment for the âprongsâ.
It snaps âdownâ for use as a wall-charger, and âupâ to use in power-strips. See https://www.amazon.com/Nikon-Charger-EN-EL15-Battery-compatible/dp/B0049U477Y , 2nd pic.
Thereâs no display but for a status LED.
Iâm not sure what display would be used for a USB charger, other than a status LED as well. Voltage/current display?
Hi ,thanks.
Yes, current/voltage and some other information will be displayed. No big surprise. What we strive to do is making the display as accurate as possible since one port will be QC3.0. Then people wonât need to plug and unplug a tester again and again.
I think something like this works better. You can see it on the wall and on a powerstrip on the floor (if the display doesnât have terrible viewing angle), and it also maintains comfortable display orientation on both situations.
The wall outlet is usually near the floor, so then youâll have to kneel down to read the display when itâs facing forward.
However, in a powerstrip the display is upside down when it is at an angle⊠:person_facepalming:
Powerstrips arenât always on the floor. Iâve had some wall-mounted vertically and horizontally, some pn the desk or table, and some hanging loose. The corner display is nice but it;s clear than nothing will be perfect everywhere so just put it where you will and the user will adapt to that. Do make it large and easily readable.
