Mode switch and user interface:
You need to hold the mode switch for at least more than 1.5 seconds to activate the strobe mode. If you turn off the torch while on strobe mode, it will turn on strobe mode. The only difference is that if you turn it off while on strobe, then turn it back on while still on strobe mode, and then you press the mode switch to disable the strobe, the light goes into firefly mode automatically. It only has to be off less than 1 second for this to happen. If you turn it back on less than .5 of a second and disable the strobe, it will go back to the last mode use. If you do not turn off the torch while on strobe and press the mode switch, it will go back to last mode used.
The mode switch is made from aluminium or non-iron metal. It is pretty smooth and hard to feel around for it in the dark. Simple solution for this as others have done in the past is to simply point your pocket clip towards the mode switch.

Looks and Knurling of the torch:
The knurling of the EC35 is pretty smooth. It is as not as rough and does not feel as it has much grip as your standard black type HAIII hard anodized torches.
My EC35 came with extra markings of the brand and model. On the side where the modes switch is located, the markings look faded and worn out. Perhaps it was bad quality control or they felt that it would affect the performance of the torch. On the back of if, the markings look well and dark.
Overall this torch is in par with your Nitecore P12, your Fenix PD35, and your Thrunite Tn12. The silver colour is an eye catching and you would definitely find it quickly in your dark bag.

Final Thoughts:

There is nothing wrong with the torch or its finish. To me, the finish reminds of galvanized fences. That is just my opinion, other than that, it’s great torch. Another good thing about it, that the tail caps twist on easily but not so much off because of the O-ring and it’s the same with the head. The contacts springs are soft but not soft enough to hear the battery rattle inside the torch.

Thank you

Nice review. Well done. I especially enjoyed the reflector comparison shot.

Nice light, i had that on my list for a long time in sand or olive color but i used my gearbest wallet always for other stuff. Someday i will get one : )
The last picture would be perfect for a little hide EC35 game  I have the Acebeam M20 keychain light with the same finish, its like rough beadblasted and it kind of sparkles in the sun.

I have the black EC35. Beautifully made flashlight. I missed out on the Mil Green neutral white emitter batch.

Looks like a great little light. I’ve been super impressed with Acebeam’s smaller lights lately. Thanks for the review!

Thank You

I can relate to what you are saying, mate. If the time ever comes, you won’t regret purchasing the EC35 in sand or olive. EC35 hiding game does not sound like a bad idea at all.

I did not know that they came in neutral white. That would have been nice to have since I like the neutral tints better than white or cool white. I only purchase mine last month and missed the boat by a lot since the first came out earlier in the year. I agree, your EC35 is definitely a beauty.

This is my first Acebeam torch. I am impressed with them as well. I am definitely will be buying more of their products.

Thanks for the kind works.

To be honest, the only place i know who carries the NW is http://bestlight.io
He has no idea if he will get any more in than he already has. He still has some silver, sand, & black in NW. No mil green though

That’s what I get for not refreshing the thread before posting, I guess.

I have this in NW, “sand” colored:

(The NW variant was a special edition, I believe only available from bestlight.io and in very limited quantities. As RobertB said, the NW “military green” is all gone.)

It feels very well made, and the knurling is quite grippy in my opinion. Maybe the different colors of anodization have different levels of grippiness? I wonder if that’s also related to the seeming misprint of the logo on yours.

Anyway, here are a few beamshots. Trees are ~55m away.

AceBeam EC35 NW (XPL-HI 4000K)

Manker U11 (modded w/ Nichia 219C 5000K)

BLF X6 (XPL-HI 3B)

M2 + MT-G2

Thank you for that mate, but 20USD for shipping is a bit too steep for me, mate.

Hey mate,

Those are impressive beam shots you got there. The x6 is pretty impressive. How many lumens? I have a U11 NW with an XP L they are nice. How many lumens does the Nichia produce? How many lumens does your M2 with the MT G2 produce? I have a Klarus G30 that has a MT G2 and it does not look that impressive. Klarus states that it produces 2450 lumens. Your EC35 is nice.

Maybe the one that I bought feels that way and may the colour adds to this as well. I compared the knurling to other lights that I own, such as the TK15UE, TC12, G30, TK32, and TN30. There is nothing wrong with the torch, it’s well made, and it works.

If anyone is interested, there is this ebay vendor that operates from the US and has 3 military green available Also, they have 100% good reputation.

There are many places in the US that has the Mil Green for sale, but none with the NW emitter. It seems Bestlight.io special ordered a few hundred of the EC35’s with NW emitters, and they are out of stock.

Of course! My apologies. NW military green is the holy grail at the moment. Maybe if enough of approach Acebeam they will make more.

Im confused. When I go to that site I am able to add nw green to my cart. Not interested though because this seems over priced.

Because it’s out of stock

Thanks for the compliment. Unfortunately I have no idea how many lumens any of these actually produce! (I guess I need to make an integrating sphere next.) The U11 is definitely not as bright as it was with the CW it came with (NW variant was not being sold yet at the time), but I don’t mind in the least because the tint on the CW was just unspeakably bad. The X5 is officially listed at 1400 lumens, and apparently some people have measured theirs at that level, but others have gotten numbers a few hundred lumens lower. Seems to be some variation in quality of the parts or the assembly. And of course I’m truly curious about the output from my M2/MT-G2.

I have to apologize. I emailed Bestlight.io and he said the Mil Green NW is back in stock. Normally they list the number of units available when in stock. The first batch sold out in a couple days, and he said he didn’t know if they would ever get anymore in.
