Factory “BARE” L6 and my L2

Lfatman, those are pretty cool. Are you going for some sort of zombie apocalypse look there?

KawiBoy, I’m lovin’ the stripped large hosts. I think I’m going to strip my S70 now after seeing your lights.

Here’s my F13 I just finished some polishing on. Host is still empty.

Thanks for creating this thread, tim70. After I found out how easy it is to strip and polish, I have to hold myself back from doing it to every light I have.

It may not be a flashlight but definitely unique

White powder-coated Aluminium.

I have the one on the far left.

What is going on here?? What’s with the dirty spots?

Brinyte B158 - Strip, Polished, Dedome XP-G2 S4 2B, FET+7135 MTN-17DDm-New Updated Version.

Man that tailcap is gorgeous…. I just couldn’t do that to my B158 though, the ano is already so nice. My favorite ano I think.

Seconded!

And I have no idea what’s “baking”, even.

Baking anodizing can change the color of the dye used, usually works best on type I or II. You can either do it in an oven or with a torch but in either case you need to strip it down to metal parts only (no lens, switch, driver, o-rings, or anything else adversely affected by ~450F).

Hmm, kewl!

Any way to tell beforehand what the change would be? Is it usually from black to tan? Reminds me of Cerakote, which’d be pretty awesome.

Kind of a gamble on what will result. Some lights do not get changed to the same color on all parts. I did a S2 Hard Oxygen glossy black and it was awful. Ended up getting stripped and polished. Tried another S2+ in blue and it had all Crackle looking bezel and off color parts. The M2 Convoy in glossy turned out well, pics above.
