Congrats guys, nice win!
I’ll go sulk now
Congratulations pilotdog68 and zipelgas
Oh boy, oh boy
First time I have won something!
Head is racing… What to build, what configuration? This needs a special light. I’m thinking sleeper
Congratulations pilotdog68 and zipelgas! Thanks again for the giveaway!
Can you do a side-by-side table comparing the 1, 2, and 3?
Because, uh, I still have a 1 and a 2 unused. I must have been greedy, overreaching … oh yeah, it was shipping quantity made me overbuy …
It’d help to figure out which version is appropriate for which use, or not.
Or, hey, people collect antique flashlights; does anybody collect antique drivers?
Besides me, I mean?
IIRC, it’s about like this:
- LD-1 Hardware = good ……… Firmware = good
- LD-2 Hardware = better ……… Firmware = same?
- LD-3 Hardware = tweaked …… Firmware = better
The hardware was significantly improved from 1 -> 2 and the firmware was significantly improved from
2 -> 3, but LD-3 lost the use of e-switch that both 1 and 2 had. IMHO, LD-1 would be good for a giveaway/sale light, since it offers nothing that isn’t at least as good, or improved in later models. For your own lights, use LD-2 for e-switch and LD-3 for clicky. Hopefully I’m remembering all of this correctly.
Congratulations guys! :sunglasses:
wait I won something?? I don’t think that has ever happened…
I don’t know what to do now!?
That’s a good summary DavidEF
There are many things/features to compare, I would add most important ones:
-internal resistance LD-1 low, LD-2,LD-3 very low (DD-like)
multicell(2S-4S) support LD-1 no, LD-2 LD-3 - yes
external overtemp. protection (with sensor) LD-1 - no,LD-2, LD-3 - yes
dual switch support LD-1,LD-2 yes, LD-3 - no(for now)
- configurable settings/UI - LD-1,LD-2 - no, LD-3 - yes
Perfect driver to use in your planned triple (or quad) XHP35, PD68.
Congratulations to the winners
