I already re- sent it . I wanted to make sure there weren’t any problems. You said in your PM that the delay might be in your mailing system …. But I didn’t want you to have to wait any longer than you already had .
Let me know when you get it / or don’t get it …thanks again
Thermal imaging doesn’t work on glass or other reflective surfaces. It just reflects the temperature as if it was a mirror. If you take a thermal image of a window straight on, you don’t see the temperature of the glass or anything behind it but your own body heat.
Well, but the wooden surface absorbs the light/heat while DC-Fix lets it pass, at least most of it. I’m using DC-Fix “Static premium transparent” (static means without glue) in a UF13 with MT-G2, powered at about 60 watts maximum, about 3000 lumens. This DC-Fix eats only about 7% of the light (my rough measurement), no problems here up to now.
Maybe find a “disposable” lens to try it on, just in case it does trap heat.
And yeah, I forgot about that tiny detail of thermal imaging and glass. I was really not even thinking about glass. Most lenses in lights that I own are plastic.
just noticed this as i was about to send you a paypal payment. maybe folks can give me some advice…. im actually putting this on a led “cube” offroad light that i use for a reverse light on my atv. i currently have a homemade diffuser on there… basically a cover that i cut a bunch of lines in with a grinder to give it a wider pattern.
all i need is 2” x 2”… so size isnt an issue… but what would make the beam as floody as possible? and maybe be durable to boot? although ill probably put a clear cover over top of it for protection.
I’ve had some of this stuff for ages, but it’s still in the envelope Boaz sent it in. I’ll be building another BMF SRK with 3 x MT-G2s from a cheapo SRK host and will try it out then. A few questions though…
Does this stuff come off easy? Does it leave any traces that have to be cleaned?
Does this stuff change the tint? I’ll be sticking it on another MT-G2 SRK as I use them for photography, and want one that is more of a fill light so I need it’s tint to be the same.
