Help, looking for a ultra compact 18650 flashlight

If you decide on the P10, buy the one from Manafont labeled as a Sky Ray. It is the same light and Manafont will get it it you much quicker and their customer service is a bit more responsive.

I already have one, bought at DX last year (november).

Thanks for all the links! There are a lot more too choose from than I came up with on my own. I really like the FannyFire 2100. HID45, Hopefully you get one soon. I would like to wait and see the review.

Let's just hope it doesn't light HID45s fanny on fire ..... ;-)

It's the same light as the yezl z1.. for the money it's hard to beat .. mizjif is one of a few members who hates this light .most think it's pretty decent just is over priced (it was 25$/xpg now the z-1 is an xml + is 29.95+shhipping )..I assume the yezl has a few advantagesover the fandyfire .. it probably has a better driver and a better pill /copper / .. other than that i assume it's the exact same light .$17 imho is a decent price for this light

there are reviews on BLF for yezl z1 just do a search .. i know match took one apart and at least did a mini review

Me neither. And I really like it, reminds me Sunwayman lights, that I like badly  (too bad they aren't budget :( )

N-Light L2 could be a good choice also. I was thinking on buying one with actual offer from Ric.

Are any of the ultra compact available in neutral tint with either correctly working memory or single mode? I now have just too many cool white and want to graduate to neutral but I will not put up with "always turns on in the next mode" type of multi mode.

There is, but it exceeds the $20 limit a little.

ShiningBeam S-mini Neutral White LED Flashlight 335 Lumens

That is a rather impressive flashlight. Too bad it's out of my range.

This is a new one at MF similar to Fandyfire 2100 but with xml. uniquefire 2100

aluminum UF a10c with 5mode q5

Just get a Trustfire T2, it will end up being your favorite light as long as you can live with a side clicky switch, which I personally love.

I have both the Yezl Z1 and the Shiningbeam S-Mini and they are two different animals, the only thing they have in common is 3 mode and 18650 batteries. The Yezl is definitely brighter, but the ringy beam and the cheap build quality are not good. The S-Mini has an absolutely beautiful beam and stellar build quality, probably the best quality light I have or have handled for that matter. If you want the best light get the S-Mini if you want the brightest get the Yezl.

There is an akoray 18650 out there saw it just the other day .. never seen it before . just thought I'd mention it .

cheaper than this place but i forget where .interesting looking light .

I love compact 18650 lights and have a few of them and did some measurements.

My favourite is the UltraFire P10-R5, as I find it most pocket-friendly - and it tailstands.

A friend of mine accidentally washed it in the washing machine - no water got inside.

It has an XP-G R5, which suits your requirements quite well; you still shouldn't put it somewhere running high for prolonged time as it still gets hot then, but a holding hand or headwind will suffice as cooling and it won't get hot then.

I modded mine to XM-L @2.8A, that's my EDC now :)

Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up ordering the fannyfire a couple days ago. http://www.dealextreme.com/p/fandyfire-2100-cree-xp-gr5-5-mode-350-lumen-white-led-flashlight-with-strap-1-x-18650-90123

I was in the hunt for a torch exactly like this - thanks for bring it to our attention.

It's great looking, very compact and not too bright (my other 18650 light is the hard driven R5 Fandyfire 2100 which I find too bright at times)

The other site you were talking about was probably PowerWholesale.net who also sell this Akoray AK-12, except they claim theirs to be a Q5 not a Q4 (is there any distinguishable difference anyway?)

Their price is also cheaper (for me at least), even though they charge shipping. I'm in Australia and they quoted $8 for shipping but the total cost is still $5 cheaper than QualityChinaGoods

A little late with my input but I'd have recommended the 3 or 5 mode UF 2100 from DD for around $18. Nice quality and insanely bright. Already has a good XM-L and a great driver with no need for upgrading.

Ultracompact 18650 is not a very popular form factor. But they are perfect bike lights for helmet mounting. My criteria is under 5" and 1" diameter. There are very few lights that have straight bodies; no lights with larger diameter heads for the helmet.

I finally upgraded my tr-801 with a Uniquefire 2100 single mode. I then bought an S-Mini XP-G; the XP-G should have more throw than the XM-L version. The S-Mini is SMALLER than any of the other offerings at 4.5" l x 0.87" diameter. It's a very nice light. The XP-G is $8 cheaper than the XM-L version and it's rated 40 lumens lower than the XM-L.

I would not hesitate to buy another Shiningbeam branded light. The may not be budget, but the quality is great.

I have 2 S-mine lights. One is the older XP-G and I have the newer XM-L. The XM-L is listed at 400 lumens and the XP-G is rated at 360 lumens. Of the two, I prefer the less expensive XP-G. It looks brighter to me and throws better. The XM-L has a little more spill but not enough to make it worth the extra $5 as far as I'm concerned. Both are great lights.

See also http://www.easylightbuy.com/akoray-ak12-cree-q3-led-aluminum-flashlight_p202.html for an “Akoray AK-12 CREE Q3 LED Aluminum Flashlight”. It is extremely compact and light. It even uses square threads to hold the tail cap on with less metal. Very neat finish. May not be easily modable, as the pill is shoved into the main tube which is both the body and the head.
