Here is a thread somewhere on forum which shows EC4 internals. Driver is same shape as 2-cell contact board, swich board is the separate part.
Anyway youll never find buck driver with electronic switch support and real thermal regulation with external thermistor for less than $10.
Passive drain? Host better fits long cells, just use protected ones and dont worry.
I responded in the fasttech thread. I canât recommend the light because of build quality. I will get a complete review done sometime.
Yes, as most buck drivers can work with leds when Vf is slightly (0.2-0.4v) lower that Vin.
Mine one gives 2Amp to XHP-70.

I have an EC4 on the way and if I can swap the stock emitter for, say, a Nichia 144A⌠THAT would be cool !
use protected ones and dont worry.
My experience differs. The light I got drew down the voltage of good quality new protected cells significantly within a few days.
That means I have to block the circuit or remove the cells until I need the light.
I realize this doesnât worry everyone.
But when I want to grab a flashlight in a hurry after the earthquake stops, it wonât be this one.

I did not know that. Thank you for that very useful information :+1:

Pictures on taobao doesnât load until you scroll the page down to where it is, I guess they use some sort of code to prevent the image from being retrieved by a search engine in order to save bandwidth.
Very nice light so far. Some idea where to buy it?!
Cooyoo Quantum+
Mikoze MKX-L730 Zoomie with microUSB charging.
Thanks for promos
Sorry I didnât go through all the comments, and I am kinda out of flashlight world for quite some times but these lights appear to be quite interesting. Do you mind to include the link(s) to each light in the OP?
Thanks!
That Mikoze MKZ-L730 seems interesting. Any link for that one? Every google search I tried keeps coming up with Lincoln Car references (american auto manufacturer).
What Iâd be really excited for is more EDC-sized (no more than 1â/25mm diameter), mod-friendly e-switch hosts. Something with the switch on a separate board that could take the popular 17mm driver designs would be ideal. Not only do e-switches offer more flexible UI options, a mechanical switch is just one more thing to melt when building a crazy FET triple.
+1 w/zak. Something like a moddable MH20
:+1: :+1: Yes. I love side switches, seem to me to be easier to use. But I also like a mech tail switch as a lockout, though a quarter crank of the tail cap will suffice when the threads are anodized.
I really like my MH20 and Olight S15âs because of the sideswitches
Iâve modded an MH20. Itâs a bit of a hassle, but a 219C in it makes a lovely beam profile.
Iâm thinking more along the lines of the Olight S2, but with the ease of changing drivers weâre used to seeing in Convoys and similar tube lights. I was hoping the Astrolux E02 would be that, but the driver isnât so easy to swap, the stock MCPCB is defective and the mode spacing is ridiculously terrible.
