Yes, but since the MT07 is already driven harder than the L6 there is less room for modding. With both driven to the max (DD) the output should be the same.
I already modded the MT07 up, but moderately. Probably will do it little by little.
Resistor mod (mild), think added an R075, and sanded down the centering ring base only slightly to ensure flattening (0.92mm to 0.90mm) and files the top down so total height went from 1.95 mm to 1.61 mm. Results:
On fresh GA's:
lumens: 5,678 @start, 5,318 @30 secs
throw: 148 kcd (taken at 5m)
Next mod is to replace LED with a P2 1C, possibly sliced, not sure yet. The sanding down of the LED centering piece increased throw from 140 kcd to 148 kcd, so I'm pretty confident it helps both throw and lumens. The idea is to remove possible blockage of photons coming out at steep angles from the LED. It seems to work on pretty much any light that has that type of centering piece, where the lip protrudes upward, even though it's below flush with the reflector.
Might be true for lumens but not throw, since the MT07 reflector is wider than the L6 and a good design for throw, just like the L6. The L6 SMO though will be better then the L6 OP, dunno if it can beat the OP MT07 though. I have an L6 SMO ordered, on the way.
Is it still possible to add 8 Sanyo GA batteries to my order?
I’ve sent the PP for lights and thought I had the correct batteries but don’t and your price is best.
Thank You
