What's the best aaa flashlight in 2016 + Giveaway

1. Astrolux A01. Light, small, high CRI and all modes I need as EDC.

2. high CRI no doubt

1. Astrolux A01

Advantages: to small, very nice price, to much colors and with strobe!
Disadvantages: not inlcuded Memory mode.

2. Needs a moonlight mode and memory mode.

1. I love my Olight I3S-Cu raw. I like:
the design, the material, the XP-L Led, tailstand, good clip, the hole for the ring (not disturb the tailstand), the power in high more than 150 lumens (then step to 90 lumens). Good distribution of modes (180-90/20/2 lumens). After the step you can cycle back to high mode and get good power again for new 3 minutes. the only that I do not like is the order mode: I prefer low, mid, high.

2. I would like:

- see configurable interface for choose the order modes: low/Mid/high or Hight/mid/low.

- will be great in a 1xaaa light some information about battery level

- I prefer a smooth reflector (all are orange peel) or at least the two options.

- I would like Neutral white option

- reversible clip, of course

- please, no disco modes for a 1xaaa (no sense on little light)

- compatible with NiMH and 10440

- no more than 3 or 4 modes.

  • I would like also a interface style 2 modes, clicky, one mode with the head screw and other mode with the head a little unscrewed.

1. Olight I3s
Small, light and stands up well to key chain use.
Anodizing rubs off.
2. More lumens on high with nimh, like my ti3

1. what’s best or your favorite aaa flashlight in 2016, what’s the advantages and disadvantages about it?

My favorite AAA flashlight in 2016 is the Lumintop Tool.

Advantages:
Light weight. Easy for everyday carry.
Small in size. Again, a plus for everyday carry.
Decent mode spacing at 5, 32, and 110 LM. (I would prefer a lower low, to be honest.)
No strobe modes, thank God.

Disadvantages:
Tint / low CRI. I’d love an affordable high CRI / Nichia version of this one.
Appearance. I’d prefer a lamp of this size to look a little less “tactical.”
No mode memory. (I want my EDC flashlight to come on in the mode I left it in, or always in low mode.)
Doesn’t tailstand.

2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight?

I’m looking for an affordable, non-tactical-looking EDC torch with several well-spaced modes, no strobes and high CRI that can tailstand well.

1. Astrolux a01
2. More High cri lights

1. Best 1x AAA: Olight i3s eos (i.m.h.o.)
Because it’s very light weight, tiny, very pretty, starts on medium mode, has a usable moon mode, best twisty switch i know of. (but a little expensive and low CRI XP-G2)

2. Nichia 219C high CRI, more lumens in high mode.

Astrolux A01

  • Little bulky

2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight

  • CLICKY!
  • Warm/Neutral high CRI (Nichia 219B/C)

1. what’s best or your favorite aaa flashlight in 2016, what’s the advantages and disadvantages about it

I like the Manker A01. It’s small, fits in a pocket and has no sharp edges to catch in your pocket. I can put it in my mouth when I need both hands, and direct it easily with my lips and tongue exactly where I need the light.

2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight

I don’t think that a light this small needs a strobe function, though in the A01 it is fairly well ‘hidden’ since it requires cycling through L-M-H, L-M-H before you get to it.
Tail stand ability.
An add on accessory that would be useful is a clip that would hold it to a hard hat. Extra points if it holds it securely, and allows aiming, yet can be removed one handed when you need to point the light exactly ‘here’.

1. what’s best or your favorite aaa flashlight in 2016, what’s the advantages and disadvantages about it
It’s the LUMINTOP Tool AAA - edition with double replaceable (clicky and magnet that tailstands  ) tailcap (bought 2pcs for $8.19/pc :money_mouth_face: ).
Pros: Cheap and very handy for everyday use.
Cons: No memory mode.

2. what are the new features that you are looking forward to see for 2017 aaa flashlight
A smaller AAA FL (like Astrolux A01), over 100lm, with side switch and memory mode, priced <10$.

1. Astrolux A01
2. Moonlight mode and mode > 150 lumens

1. UltraTac K18, lightweight and powerful.

2. More lights with high CRI.

Lumintop Tool - Clicky or twisty w/ magnet and tactical push, very small, very bright.
