Where to get a replacement at a greater or smaller angle? frost/matt/clear
7 up at that diameter is going to be floody no matter what the TIR specsā¦
Someone had sent this link to DQG: ŠŠ°ŃŃŠ¾Š¼ŠøŠ·Š°ŃŠøŃ DQG26650 | ŠŠ°ŃŃŠµŃŃŠŗŠ°Ń: ŠŠŠŠŠ Š„ Šø AVSel
Any chance of getting A6/Bistro firmware in there, even with a replacement driver? Iād like a couple modes between turbo and high, and an even lower low.
Otherwise Iām all over this one.
Im 99% sure that stock driver is boost.
And there is no need in lots of modes if they are not fixed.
Why would it be boost? Itās possible to run 1S7P with these LEDs with a single cell.
And Iām not familiar with DQGās UI, are the modes infinitely variable? Still, Iād rather have 7 modes than 4. Also Iām STRONGLY against mode memory, Iād prefer it to be user selectable.
I think Itās likely boost because it is easier to work with high voltage than high current, driver swap is possible but you would need a custom pcb with room for the electronic switch. DQG lights arenāt known for handling heat and even at the stock turbo level I donāt think it could last more than a minuteā¦ I hate mode memory too, I like direct access to lowest and highest modes.
Yeah, I wasnāt thinking of running higher than stock turbo, more of a āturbo liteā at something like 1200-1500 lumens for a smidge longer.
I was playing with my BLF A6 for the first time in a while (it was my favorite light in Afghanistan), and I remembered why I liked the interface so much.
Also, learn me something. I thought to do boost, you need LEDs evenly divisible by the number of channels - for 2S you need 2, 4, 6, etc. LEDs, for 3S you need 3, 6, 9, etc. LEDs. I cannot see how to wire up 7 LEDs in anything other than 1S. 1 channel running 3S1P and another running 4S1P would have some of the LEDs getting either too much or too little power. 7S1P just seems silly to me, the losses from boosting that much would be worse than just running DD high current I figure.
Oh it makes senseā¦ 7S is 20V+ Vf!
You can drive leds as 4s2p with extra diode in one half of circuit. With about 3v voltage drop on this diode youll never see difference in led current.
Thanks kiriba-ru, I had never thought of that. Would the extra diode create much heat?
I still want this light, even if I canāt change it much.
I donāt see BG offering a NWā¦.
Thank you
I was using the link in the opās first post and it goes to a CW. It gives no options for a NW.
Ah yes. Banggood has a separate link for NW. Hopefully if OP gets a coupon code it will work for both models.
In the pics it appears that the black one is slightly longer than the grey one. Especially noticeable in the 3rd pic. Is this some optical illusion?
Another light with bad mode spacing. :person_facepalming: Thereās at least one missing level between the 8lm and 250lm mode. More likely two based on their other modes. Like ~25lm and ~80lm.
And the output between 8 and 250 lumen is so important for such a compact light; at least to me. Anyhow, I was never charmed by DQG anyway so lucky me. Very interesting light neverthelessā¦
Same as extra led in the most simple solution.
This not too much as you can think for the first moment. For example 6x7135 linear driver with xp-g3 will give 3.2Ć2.1=6.72w and will consump itself (4.2-3.2)Ć2.1=2.1w on full charged cell.
I was interested, but the bad level spacing turned me off.
This is so easy to do right, yet almost no flashlight maker does. Itās not very hard to evenly space the brightness levels on a suitable power law curve or log curve.
