BLF GT Design

 … :open_mouth:
What are you referring to when you say, “the mess we are in now”???

Well, it is a bit of a battle for the best design…
Also ‘behind the scene’.
Could have been avoided i.m.o.
Various factors are in play…

Thank you ‘Jerommel’.
But I am asking ‘The Miller’, the one who made the statement; what he is referring to.

I don’t see any mess, when designers have a friendly “competition” they bring out their very best and the forum wins! Given the acceptance of both designs it wouldn’t surprise me that another manufacturer picks up the design not selected for this project, I honestly don’t care if design 1 or 2 gets picked they both kick butt!!! I would probably buy both to be honest…!!!

What a close race , very exiting to see. But also a bit sad since it seems the group is very split in what the light should look like.
I just want to add that regardless of the design i will buy one.

Good work everybody!

Ypu need to start working out, and especially in the upper body/arms….

That’s why there is attachment points for a strap I belive, and a handle can be boltet on in the tripod mount.

Naw, this is more me:

This bold is what I mean and the sometimes not all that friendly posts teacher, Jerommel said it well and he knows since we have a little pm going on with the designers

Oh entries for the list in the GT topic please

Hahhahahah

…me to…

Thank God, before I vote for… potato power D5  , I realized that this is a serious poll. Then again I realized that only serious flashaholics should vote in a BLF’s GT thrower poll, so please inform whow can I cancel my D1 vote, as I’m still a newbie! :disappointed:

heheh there should be a button “cancel vote”

we will do a new vote for 1 and 2 so it seems.

Don’t hurry it. (is what i would say)
I think both could do with some more time to make adjustments.

I had specific reasons for choosing option 2 and given what TA said about the need for knurling and no cost difference between the two heads, it was a good choice :D. VOTE DESIGN-2!! design 1 is a plunger and sends mean emails!

LOL, while I do much prefer design 2 myself design 1 is still a great looking light and something I would love to own, just in a smaller package.

No, #1 has better proportions, ergonomics and balance.

#1 design is classy and reminds me of the Polarion... my dream flashlight for many years. #2 looks badass like a L6 on steroids. If the manufacturer can also make the handle my vote goes for #1, but if not I'll go with #2. Either design is amazing!

The handle will not be coming with the light although you will be able to use a tripod mounted handle on both lights.

Fritz could most likely upload the CAD file for the handle though and it is possible it could be 3D printed but it would not look nearly as good or be as strong as metal.

I have a good idea for the handle and will include it into my next design.

No, while they both/all look great…… #2 has better proportions, ergonomics, and balance. As well as better cooling potential for a future mod platform.
Vote #2.

Yeah, Jerommel, while I respect you greatly, I really disagree on this one. I have a TK75 w/extension, an X60, a TR-J20, and a TR-J19 and they all balance and handle just fine. I have a cone-shaped stubby zoom light and it’s the worst by far on ergos, balance, and proportion. Heck, I wish my TM16 had a 4x18650 extension available.

But as it’s been said, maybe do a run of both designs? There are two camps that really love one and really don’t love the other. I’d be all for BLF GT1 being design 1 and BLF GT2 (or whatever the name) being design 2.
