Nitecore LR30.

To be continued

Arrived yesterday.

Pros:

  1. Good quality flashlight.
  2. 2 tail-caps (clicky & magnet).
  3. 2 O-rings as spare.
  4. Nice keychain (but doesn't have a lanyard).
  5. Nice package (plastic box in carton with window), good looking for present.
  6. Delivers many lumens for it's size with a good AAA battery.

Cons:

  1. Doesn't have strobe mode.
  2. Li 10440 battery not compatible.
  3. Difficult to change modes with one hand if you use the magnet tail-cap, cause the head is tight and needs some strength to turn it.
    • Using the clicky tail-cap is easier, cause the modes can also change by pushing slightly the switch.

Purchased:

$8.19 (*2pcs) at 11/11.

Seller: Aliexpress Store No.2529001.

  • Recommended.
  • Fast dispatch and normal delivery (ordered 2016-11-11, arrived 2016-12-07 in Thessaloniki, Central Macedonia, Greece).
  • Package wasn't well protected (simple envelope), but due to the well protecting plastic box of the items there was no problem.
  • Free shipping with Tracking Nr.

Bottom line:

Great deal at this price!

Nitecore confirm me a few minutes ago that Tip Wintern edition “the winter edition is definitely from a newer batch without the lockout issue”.
(The person that comment, I think is quite reliable.)

Thanks for the info Trevi_lux!
The answer I received a few minutes ago from Nitecore wasn’t enlightening at all, but I’m sure you’ve got better contact with them. :+1:

I have 2 Winter edition on the way (one from gb, one from bg). one of them (the first that i bought) is now ” Delivery in progress”, it will be delivered today….in a few hours I will check if is new batch.

JetBeam C8

Honestly I did not think I would like it. I was going to leave it here for my wife.

Truth is I am keeping it. Making it my EDC at work. I do wish it had a belt clip and the little rubber cover for the Micro USB is kind of irritating really only because of the tiny little tip of it. I snipped that off and now that cover does not get snagged all the time.

Arrived my first TIP winter Ed. (from bg this unit)
Confirmed that after lockout if I press any button, the switch not blink (my previously TIP blink the switch after lockout if I touch it)

Good news for TIP Winter keep on coming!

Warsun X50

I was looking for a torch that took 3xAA for friends that don’t like Li-ions and found this zoomie. Pretty good for the price (£11.70 BangGood). LED looks like a genuine XM-L2. It can also take a 26650. With a fresh 26650 I measured 1.4A on high and 350mA on low (so room for improvement).

Finally get to post here after a long while.
