Hi VOB,

Nice video. Well Done. Music good but not intrusive.

Just recently discovered these Lumintop Tool’s myself, so I agree with your comments about instantly having an affinity, and the Quality feel about them.

Could be the start of another collecting / using category, as no AAA lights bought before these.

Cheers,
Splott-Light

Nice vid vestureofblood. You did excellent job describing this light. I used to carry the Streamlight microstream exclusively and then I switched to the Inova XS AAA, but now im hooked on Lumintop Tool its just as good as the designer brands. Love it.

I just ordered my first one today. I look forward to it.

Nice job as always VOB.
I will add: Knurling is top notch. Also same manufacture as Maratac’s. All great lights. Check out the Copper version too. Super fine EDC

Nice rappin’ review

I hate the tailswitch on these an that they cannot tail stand.

However, the Reylight Ti version is one of my favorite flashlights.

If I’ve got a torch that won’t tail stand, I just stand it in a small glass or jar

Nice review, gifted mine but liked it so much I bought 3 copper ones

OK, y’all convinced me. just bought the regular on BG, if only to compare it to the Relight version I love  . Thanks for helping to spend my money peeps :smiling_imp:

I recently swapped the LED in one of these to the 219C and it is even better. With a 10440 it makes about 500 lumens and a great tint. Much nicer then the stock XP-G2.

Your video mentioned a magnetic non-clicky tail cap, where do I find that? The product listing on the usual suspect websites (GB, BG) didn’t mention it being included.

Edit: nevermind, I now see the Amazon link in the video description.

Code doesn’t seem to work though?

Received my new Tool tonight after seeing lots of great reviews. Unfortunately, the light may be smarter than I am as I cannot make it come on. Tried both the supplied battery (after removing the tab that protects it from coming on during transit) and a spare Duracell. Just to make sure, I tried one of my new batch of Eneloops that came in today with the light. Nada.

Tried using a paper clip to check connection between the tailcap and the battery. Nothing, but I may not have hit the right spot. Both Duracells measure 1.5x V while the new Eneloop shows 1.3+ V.

I’m open to suggestions. Really hoping that it isn’t DOA.

Joe

ETA: Also tried the magnetic tailcap but no love. Still new to the quality flashlight world so appreciate any help…

ETA 2: Think I figured it out. It’s working now but I think I’ll need to invest in some white lithium grease if that’s what everyone is using for the threads (I’m going to do a search now). I’m really pleased with the output, just as everyone stated!

Try to see what you need here: Comprehensive Grease and Lube Thread | Candle Power Flashlight Forum

It’s on another forum but gave everything you need to know about lube and grease.

I received my light 2 days ago. this thing is really well machined. Smooth threading and I love the feel of it. It is really a good light. I can’t wait to see the Hugsby lights I ordered to compare the two.

Has anyone gotten the code to work on Amazon? It doesn’t work for me.

The only code I know of is for GearBest.

The video OP posted mentions a 20% coupon code in the description of the vid, and provides a direct Amazon link (I’m not going to post it, you’ve got to go to Youtube and give OP some views if you want it :stuck_out_tongue: ).

But it didn’t work for me. OP, can you update us?

The ReyLight Ti has an electronic tail switch that works via a capacitor on the pcb of the tail. When you first put in a cell it takes a couple of minutes for the capacitor to charge so there’s a delay before the light works properly. I really like the size and style of this light!

As a teaser, there is a brass model about to be released with the electronic tail switch. It’s a very beautiful gold, classy, will make an excellent executive or ladies EDC. Don’t ask, I can’t say more til it’s time for review…

Sorry everyone, I didn’t realize there were updates in this thread (must have deleted the notification to email).

I just messaged the seller to get the coupon code fixed I will post it as soon as possible.

If your LuminTop Tool has the e-switch clicky, you have to allow it some time to charge the capacitor before it will function correctly. This is a very unique light, I don’t know of anyone else that uses this approach.

(The e-switch clicky is flush to the tail cap, with a SS button.)

Interesting. What would be the advantage of such a design?
