Review : Utorch UT01 Flashlight (XP-L V6 / AA & 14500 / e-switch)

Thanks for the info.

I don’t want to pull the thread off track at all……but somebody help me. This was in the OP:

Eneloop AA 2000mAh :

Amperage Draw :
Lowest –
Low –
Medium –
High – 4.2A to 3.3A

I am not going to claim any sort of knowledge here…but how does a AA put out 4.2A??? I don’t understand all these currents, draws etc.

I wrote it that ways because i see 4.2 amps in my clamp meter for some seconds .

Don’t forget that UT01’s driver , when you insert a AA battery acts like a boost driver . boosts 1.5 volts to 3V that led operates .

Also measured output with AA , high mode is about 340-350 lumens .

Thanks, this has been a helpful review!
I’m not a fan of mode memory in an EDC light - do you know if there’s any reasonable way to disable this, like a solder blob across key contacts on the driver?
Thanks!

If you short click to enable light , always starts on lowest mode .

Only longer click has the memory .

Hm - OK, thanks! I thought I saw in the other video review that a regular “on” click takes it to the last-used mode.
Short-click to low sounds perfect though!

Cool thanks for the review!!

Can’t wait for mine. Shipping is REALLY slow.

Mine is stuck…
“Awaiting International flight - Airline Inspection” since 12/7.

Hopefully its just a laggy tracking update.

EDIT: Sorry…wrong thread.

Trying to decide between this and the Klarus Mi7. What are people’s thoughts on how they compare?

I was trying to make that same decision. What clinched it for me was that I want my light to come on in the lowest mode every time, and be able to cycle up through the higher modes, which the UT01 can do.

The UT01 is brighter (with Eneloops) and you can buy it in NW. Easy decision

no firefly or moonlight mode?

wle

Ordered NW and on the way- thanks

I had the MI7 and the Manker E11 (the Original of this clone) and kept the Manker. Both are excellent AA/14500 lights with lots of power, but the beam pattern is completely different. MI7 has XP-L Hi and is more like a little thrower (tight bright spot and much darker spill) , and it´s only available in cold white. The Manker on thr other side is much floodier, which I prefer as an EDC that is also used indoors. Plus it´s available in neutral white.

Very helpful comparison, thanks for sharing!

+1 @Andyman. ;)

Thanks for the info Kusie. :THUMBS-UP:

I’m convinced. Ordered NW

In the UI description I’m missing the “shut down” (off). I guess a longer press will do?

Exactly

This mirrors my opinion.
