Custom edition Mrlite J4 from Manafont.com – BLF AA-Y4E

;-) It probably will be a bit more expensive after the first batch sells out. But even so, I would give it a 4 or 5 star rating for features vs. price if they can keep it under $20.

Paypal Sent! I love the idea of a customized light for BLF and the super low should be good. I wish it had memory, but I agree that it is hard to get memory to work correctly.

If there is no memory mode If I switch is off on Low, what mode does it come on next?

How long do I have to wait 3 seconds.

Regardless of what mode you switch it off from, it will always turn on in the first "Very Low" mode. The delay should be a fraction of a second.

Me like :) Just ordered. Similar lanyard from the brand name company (JETBeam for example), cost $10 alone.

Good grief! $10 lanyards...

Which is essentially THIS one for 2.29 $, too bad that it is soldout . If Manafont or Lightake reads this... bring us affordable paracord lanyards, please...

Suggestion for new BLF poll: Did you order black, silver, or both?

5000K - wonderful. just ordered two.

I ordered a black one. The strange thing is I had to look at my Manafont order to see which one I'd actually ordered.

Once it arrives I might well get more.

Hi there teomav, welcome to BLF! Enjoy your time here.

Can I ask how you found us?

I just ordered 1 black and 1 silver. I'm so excited about getting one of BLF's first ever custom flashlights that I feel like a kid in a candy store. Laughing

Finally a multi-mode AA light without annoying strobe- and/or STTTS-mode!

Ordered just one in black and am already thinking about the silver one.

This will be my second multi-mode AA light without blinking feature with the Fenix L1T being the first one (early Luxeon III version, not really used anymore)

Big THANKS to BLF and sb56637!

Thanks. accidentally when searching in google Ultrafire U20 Cree XP-G . Sorry I did not speak good English

I hate to be the only naysayer, but always starting on low mean always clicking through everything to get to high, and with pwm, it doesn't mean it will work in low mode on low battery (pwm's low current rating is only average, instantaneous draw is still 1-2A)

Otherwise the light looks perfect, and I'll buy one, but how are we supposed to get these for anyone else? The light comes on 1 lumen and they think it's broken and then it's a pain to turn on/off. 3-4-1-2 sequence makes a lot more sense for a general purpose light.

Well, you could always order the custom mode J4 (at LT) and have it the way you or the gift receivers like it. Does Manafont also offer the reprogramming service?

14500 support, check. Very low mode, check. Good value, check. Very nice. Well, that leaves me with just one tough issue: black or silver? I guess I'll have to get one of each. :D

Ah is that right? That's news to me. Thanks for clearing that up. But even so, it still uses less energy over a given period of time on low, right? And there's also the issue of night vision-- Brted for example returned an otherwise beautiful Quark flashlight because it sometimes briefly flashed on at full brightness for an instant and ruined his night vision.

As for 3-4-1-2 sequence, our poll indicates that most users don't like the idea of non-sequential modes. Although your suggestion wasn't an option, 1-4-2-3 was a very unpopular option.

It might be a good idea to ask if Manafont can offer customized AA-Y4E or J4 lights. I know that they actually ordered a batch of AA-Y4E and they have them in their posession, which is why they ship so incredibly fast. So I'm not sure if they also do the traditional business model of "receive an order, call the manufacturer, wait for the manufacturer to send the product, ship the product to the buyer". You might try asking them, their chat support is pretty good.

Thanks for the all the work Mr Admin. I know everyone didn't get the exact config they wanted but as we all know, that was never a possibility. I think what we have here is a light that most folks around here want. Relativiely Inexpesive light with a low-low (below 3 lumens) and high high (above 200 lumens on 14500) that is unheard of for a budget light.

Personally, I like my lights to come on in the lowest mode and then cycle in order so thanks for keeping that basic...I'm ok with with cycling to high when I need it, but I would not have liked my light cutting on at full blast during my late night uses.

Thanks again for getting this done.
