Does anyone have an experience with buying from Beijing Yuji's High CRI led webstore?

Hi
So what’s the chances of yuji making LEDs for flashlights ?.
I’m really after a 5600k hcri for an 18650.
What do you think Djozz?.

Thanks.

The XP-G3 is available in High CRI (>90) all the way up to 6000K or 6500K.

I have some of the 5000K High CRI, they are very nice. Cutter sells them, not sure if they’re OOS at the moment or in stock.

-Michael

Thanks
You got a link for xpg 3 - maybe a 5700 or 6000 80/90cri please?.
Thanks.

Here’s a 5000K, >90 CRI, R3 flux, XP-G3. No info on specific tint bin.

Here’s a 5700K, >90 CRI, R3 flux, XP-G3. Same as before, tint lottery

Amazingly, I can find the 6000K 90 CRI, even the 6500K 90 CRI. But with a MOQ of 1000 @ .70-80¢ each, non-stocked but available with an 8 week factory lead time.

I need to order some of the 5700K just to satisfy my curiosity lol!

How in the heck do you search arrow? I can not figure out how to narrow the search to any of the Cree LED’s that we are interested in here. They have free shipping this month apparently and I would like to grab a few high CRI LED’s in the ~4000k range.

They are one of the hardest to figure out search/inventory systems I have seen.

I usually start with a partial series part number, especially on mobile. That will usually hit all variants they have. Try XPGDWT for example, that will show all XP-G3s. On desktop, you could click a sub-category or “filter”. IDK why, but the “filter” selection sucks on mobile. On a regular browser it usually gives you more filters like high CRI or Kelvin, but not on mobile.

The filters are where it’s at, Arrow, Mouser, DigiKey, et. al.

Not much, but hope that helps.

Yeah, I finally figured out that searching the part number narrowed it down but sadly the filters do not seem to work worth a flip. Heck they don’t even offer filters for most of the things that would normally narrow down what you want (CRI, bin, tint ect).

After a bunch of part number searching, I found the one 90 CRI you posted then 2 80 CRI leds in the 3000k range. Since they have free shipping right now I ordered one of each and an XP-L with 90 CRI just to see what they look like.

Thanks for reporting.
I have no insight in what Yuji really wants and is able to, but as I understand it is foremost a company that makes phosfors that has got into making leds as well. Therefore I would not be surprised if they do not manage to obtain the efficiency that the big led manufacturers are getting, and that they also lack the technology to get the heat management of their leds at a level that is needed to make high power single die leds.

Re Yuji LEDS in flashlights;

Dear Darryl,
Thanks very much for your advice. I just discussed it with our product manager.
She said it is a good idea, and I suppose this will be add into our latest R&D plan.
Really appreciate your suggestion.
Have a nice day.

Michael, you can open most desktop sites on mobile “by default”: just use a browser allowing you to select a desktop user agent. Check this out:

Android Opera browser with desktop user agent; it is based on the Chrome browser engine, without (imho) the annoying “link disambiguation pop-ups” the morons at Google are adamant to give their mobile users the option to disable. Android Chrome also doesn't gives you the option to select/customize the user agent, albeit it can be done on a rooted system with a sort of hack.

Despiser of eBay mobile too? Bookmark this: http://www.ebay.com/?redirect=mobile

Hope this helps.

Cheers ^:)

Hello, a basic question - I’ve recently moved into a new apartment, and I am getting a little interested in getting the lighting done nicely, so I’ve just started researching a little.

High CRI bulbs seem very interesting to me - I was wondering: do they also improve the lighting you get from a transparent lamp? Or does the “passage” through glass (or whatever it might be) lower the colour-rendering ability of the light emitted from the bulb?

So is it worth buying bulbs with high CRI for lamps like these:

Examples:
HÖLJES Loftlampe, hvid - IKEA (this one completely encloses the bulb - all light goes through the glass)

Casanova Furniture | Stort udvalg af Casanova møbler | Køb Her (I think some light is projected directly downwards from the bulb, ie not through the glass)

Hi Anders,
That should be no problem, white lamp shades should not alter the spectrum of the light that goes through it much (that the shade is pure white quite tells that already  )

Btw, if your goal is common 2700K indoor lighting, you are pretty well off with IKEA bulbs, they do not advertise it but the newest range is over 90CRI (it tells the CRI on the package).

You should think about like that: A transparent lampshade wont change the color cendering.
It is worth buying CRI bulbs for these lamps if you want high CRI.

You can read more about high CRI lamps here:

ledon.de/produkte

I just visited the yuji store because I was thinking of buying a few more led bulbs (the ones that I got two years ago have proven to be great and reliable), but it appears that they have less and less types of bulbs, and no GU10 bulbs anymore which was what I was looking for :frowning:

In bare leds they have a few more types than two years ago, but no high power leds (yet).

Philips Hue GU10 has good CRI too:
http://www.ledbenchmark.com/list.php?order=16&fitt=2&voltage=2

Or the “made in Germany” Osram LED-Spot:
ledvance.de/tech/produkte/index.jsp?productId=ZMP_1908846
led-centrum.de/LED-Leuchtmittel/led-strahler/LED-Strahler-GU10/
heise.de/preisvergleich/?cat=hhleuchtled&sort=p&xf=1299_GU10

I really do not notice it by eye so it is a bit neurotic perhaps, but all Philips and Osram bulbs to date have a ripple in the light output, it is easily caught with my phone camera. My go-to high CRI bulbs atm are the 90+ CRI 2700K Ikea bulbs (they also have a 80 CRI series but the current Ledare series are 90+ CRI and have a lovely tint). But also these have a (less than a lot of Philips and Osram bulbs) ripple:

(This is the latest Ledare 400lm GU10 bulb, picture under-exposed for clearness of ripple)

The two Yuji bulbs that I have are completely ripple-free.

There are flicker-tests on some german website:

Also flicker-free and high-CRI lamps are available:

Or you go straight ahead to Ledon:
ledon.de/produkte?lampenform=8&sockel=19

Was this already posted?

Yuji HighCRI 100W COB LED

That has very good specs: 100W and 6000 lumen in a 9mm diameter LES ! I see 32leds in there, so 3W/led, that is 1A per led. So at the rated 4A there must be 4 strings of 8 leds.

Still it is not flashlight material, if you want 6000 lumen flood in great CRI, you can make a triple or quad Nichia 144A and spend a third of the money, and the 6V voltage of the 144A is way more comfortable to achieve than 27V.
