I like the new system and the pictures of the item, though it doesn't always work. For me, DX is the same old same old. I placed an order for one item and it shipped in a couple of days, arrived in 3-4 weeks (okay for this time of year). Another order was a $2 flashlight mount for bikes, so I threw in a 10-pack of fauxton keychain lights. Both said ship in 3-5 days. Wait a week, nothing. Eventually I cancelled the order and placed an order for the bike mount only. It shipped in a couple of days. But after a week I still had to request a refund for the cancelled order because they didn't do that on their own. They took care of it, but it's just such a pain.

Guess I haven't gotten burned yet. My order took 14 days to arrive at my home in Texas. Can't complain as the packaging was great and everything worked as advertised. I e-mailed them 2 days after the odred to ask when it would ship and it shipped that same day, so all in all 10 days to get to the US.

I just ordered again today, so I will see how they do at this time of year, though it won't be their fault if airmail is slow right now.

Finally status changed to shipped today. That’s 17 days!

Ok, the batteries I order from DX just shipped today. So it took 4 days to ship two 14500 batteries. This is a little slow, but at least they shipped something this time. But still, I wish there was a better place(more efficient) to order from. Sometimes dx is the only place that has something listed. It's just their stock status is undependable, so you order something from them and waste precious time waiting on them to ship, and often, they don't ship it. I'd rather pay a little more and get what I order more reliably. They need to hire more help, I think.

I have had really good luck with this place.

I have ordered multiple ultrafire lights, a couple sipiks, some other generic models, misc batteries, and have only had one QC issue on one generic light. Supposedly they have a credit for me on it but I haven't figured out how to get it (my email provider blocks their emails for some reason.)

All in all, I really like DX, and find the reviews on the site to be helpful. Do expect long lead times, especially as we get closer to the Chinese new year!!

Won’t do business with DX again. Terrible customer service and wouldn’t give me a refund on a cancelled order even though their email said they did process the refund. Did a chargeback with no problem. They are now flagged as fraudulent in Chase banks database.

I agree, DealExtreme is pretty awful. The only thing they haven't done to merit an AVOID rating is post spam and shill posts.

One of my 5 pending DX shipments has arrived today, yay! Now only 4 DX left (see my sig). status details for this order:

ordered: 2011-12-06

dispatched: 2011-12-08 (they call it "shipped")

stamped: 2011-12-11 (the actual date on the postal stamp/sticker)

received: 2012-01-03 (today!)

Happy DX customer? hmmm. there is DX stuff which i had ordered on 2011-12-03 and which has not reached me yet (and it was splitted by them due to 1 back-ordered item: still not available, the liquid lube oil)

And to date still has not arrived. It's nearing PP's 45 days....

sorry to hear. crossing fingers for your and my remaining 4 DX consignments. fortunately those 4 orders dont contain anything too valuable, only DIY parts (Unprotected 10440's, Protected 10440's, Lube Silicone Oil, AAA-to-AA battery converter cases,..).

Nothing valuable. This is my first time ordering from DX sort of a test buy. We'll see.

I know it's silly to order this cheap little thing (which i could find locally too) from China, with all the waiting and stuff. The point here is, i forgot to include it in my original 2011-12-03 order (which was splitted afterwards anyway). It's been 43 days since I paid and order has not arrived. Called the post office, nothing. I opened a case two days ago and they replied just now asking me to wait more.

Now I've read here it's best not to file dispute, is that right?

So you never actually received the refund? Did you follow it up with them?

I ordered Trustfire TR-j12 from dx. its a week then they got payment and package is not sent. Usally it tooks 1.5 to 2 month to get package. At ebay it took two to three week from order to reciving.

What a bunch of CHINESE Crooks!

Placed order in early November, never shipped, missed Christmas, cancelled order on January 10th.

Dealextreme won't refund my USD 56.30.

Won't respond to support requests. Crooks. Frauds.

Yell

DealExtreme tried to do the same thing to me so I believe they truly are crooks. I cancelled a backordered flashlight. DX said that they would issue a refund, but never did.

The way to not getting ripped off is to file a dispute with PayPal within 45 days of ordering your merchandise. After filing a dispute you have 20 days to escalate it to a claim; that's what I have to do. I got my refund, but I think it always takes longer than it should.

One thing DX used to do is send a message that "you have received a PayPal refund" when if fact you haven't. I don't know if they still try that fraudulent trick anymore. If they try that on you, escalate to a claim immediately (due to fraud.)

i've cancelled a item from an order because it was unshipped: silicone lube oil for flashlights, 2.00US$. Havent received the first part of the splitted order yet (already 4.0 weeks in transit. should arrive this week, fingers crossed!).

In this case, because it's 2bucks only, i am very willing *not* to file a paypal dispute or claim (since i've never done it before and ..etc..) but just let it go and save my nerves and energies. It's marked on my spreadsheet hardcopy anyway, so i wouldnt forget. See my sig, there's still enough in transit .. and only after some 45 days would i drop them a note that they s*ck.

But i give them this chance, this time. It's a 2bucks thing only. Refund request for unshipped item. Very simple case.

If they cant get it right, i would let you BFL folks now. Reporting good and bad news on the forum, like sharing *any kind of news* related to flashlights is big part of the fun, especially on BFL. On other FL forums, you cant bash or criticize dealers, sellers or manufacturers. So where's the point?

Here's the point: I don't care what you bought or where you bought it from; if things go south, file a dispute with PayPal. (Unless you want to get ripped off.)

And, if you get ripped off or not, it feels really good to b*tch about fraudulent companies. A company that lets you cancel an order, but does not issue a refund, is fraudulent in my book.

oops misunderstanding. i meant, where's the point of a forum where the users cannot criticize a seller? -- Here on BFL, we are allowed to do so, so i do it, you do it, we do it, and it feels all good and natural. Like a public open uncensored forum.

i dont see much point of other flashlight forums where retail customers, dealers, sellers, distributors, and manufacturers *uck up to each other and where criticism (and posting of best deal's links of specifically Ch*nese etailers DX, DD, ..) is rewarded with deletion of posts without notification, comment, warning or discussion and eventually is followed by permanent ban.

my post didnt refer to yours, so never mind :)
