kinda tested this light tonight. Small 5630 LED bulbs w/ E14 to E27 adapters. Neat… this thing has 3 modes.
M1, 2 lights on
M2, lights the other 3
M3 All 5 on.

I have a bunch of “Edison” or rather as I call them “Tesla” bulbs in the 1930 sconces in my house. They look awesome! Such a warm tint!
Thinking industrial… Painted black with all flex bending down. May even take a section or 2 out of the tube making a table lamp.

Yup, satin black. Sockets were replaced with non-switched type, in black. I didn’t like the look of the cone shapes that were made for globes, being used with out globes. Sockets were $1.50ea on GB and threaded directly on the flexible shafts. Bulbs also from GB and rated 6W and actually rated to actual wattage accordingly to my meter.
Removed 2 of the 4 tube sections and it sits on my dresser. Wall outlet is switched so it is the main light in the room. Keeping it on 3 bulbs lit position. Like the Warm White of the COBs. Was built to be gifted but I am glad I get to keep it.
That’s funny, you shortened a floor lamp into a table lamp.
Last month I lengthened a floor lamp into an antennae mast for my mother in-law.
at 94 years, she cut the cord.
What you did is the stuff I love to do. Take something and alter it for something other than what it was intended.
Here is what I did with an old floor lamp I found on the side of the road.
I removed the old socket and installed an exterior socket-stake. I drilled and tapped it so I could tighten and loosen the swivel with a thumb screw. Then I added one of those 1 - 7 socket converters from BangGood.
Adjustable worklight.

Will be visiting Mom for pork and kraut tomorrow. She will be getting this light for under the kitchen sink cabinet. It’s recessed and should just be ablle to see the knob.
2 rows of WW 5630 in the thin housing. Used thermal plaster to the aluminum plate. It’s 12V DC and dimmable to off.
How is the PWM using that dimmer? I have a couple that I haven’t used yet
I believe it is a PWM dimmer, not visual to my eyes. Tried to take cell video as I slowly turned the knob. Saw some lines low, but did not flicker the video as if it was flashing.
Also powered through a wall wart so I can not say if that is part of the effect at all.

I have a battery-powered VHF/UHF Ham radio in a ‘suitcase’ type box for portable work where I need more signal than a handheld will do. I made a folding antenna from 300ohm TV lead-in inside sections of PVC pipe short enough to fit in the box, but to make a similar mast would have taken more space than I had. At the time I was building this thing, there was a recall of “dollar store” halogen floor lamps which were causing fires so everybody was throwing them out. The tube sections from those were skinny but stiff and what luck- they would just fit it my box 
Plus the PVC-clad antenna was a perfect friction fit over them. A simple socket in the center of the box and now my antenna is 12 feet off the ground where it can do some good :sunglasses:
Re-purposing things is a most excellent way to achieve goals without spending lots of money which leaves you a bigger flashlight budget :money_mouth_face:

Yeah, those old Halogen Torchiere Floor Lamps are useful for lots of projects. Here is my remaining stock of lamp parts.
Most of the ones I come across have 3 sections of tubing that screw into each other for the proper height. It is possible to “lego” more or fewer sections together for whatever use intended.
For instance, use only 2 of the sections with the weighted lamp base and you can use it for a small speaker stand. I simply added a 4th for my mother in-laws indoor TV antenna.
have a shortened stained glass torchier lamp in the living room, sitting on top of my HSU Subwoofer. Was 3 sections now two. Perfect height as I can just reach the 3-way SW from my chair.
The OP 5 flexi light had 4 sections, now 2 on the dresser. Cut off the plug end and installed a removable replacement plug end. Can easily pull the cord through to make it whatever it needs to be now. Never had a nice bright light in there. 3 bulbs lighted is still better light and can still have all 5 lighted as needed. The Warm COBS aren’t too bad, not eye killers without globes.
Installed the 5630 WW Dimmable Cabinet light for Mom after dinner today. Perfect light for the area over the sink and counters aside. Her cielings are 10ft high and the kitchen light is a 12 inch round flourescent inside a globe ant it’s too close to the cabinets. Counter tops were shaded more than lighted.
Also picked up a tub of those 10 rough service plastic COB under glass bulbs from HD on my way to dinner. Very nice lights. Put 3 in Moms bath over the sink and same for my bathroom, 3 over the sink. They measure out to 5.5W after a couple minutes on. Just put 3 more into my ceiling fan in the dining area (work bench). Definitely going to get another bucket of 10 for $9.90
Evolving again. Bought some old style ST64 shape COB LED bulbs off ebay pretty cheap. Only got 4 though in WW, 2X of 6W and 2X of 8W. Looks sweet. Just found the cages in Home Depot of all places. And best price I have seen @ $5ea. This is the Final Evolution of the light.
And yet another light that was out for trash. Needed a switch socket and I had one… Tucked in the corner and hard to reach, this one is on a remote control activated outlet.

Here is how I made and indoor antenna mast out of an old floor lamp.
Cord cutter, no cable access for my mother inlaw! FREE TV, amazing.
The antenna is turned for the best reception, she must have turned it to optimize the reception for the Dr. OZ show.
It’s a 4 gang UHF antenna that also works well enough for the 2 local VHF stations.
