XTAR 18700 3100Mah....?

Maybe a $14 or $15/pair special introductory rate special?

For BudgetLightForum Members.

You can't work it out like that! It's not a linear relationship between cost and capacity! I'd happily give $27 for a couple of 5.2Ah 18650s ;)

$18.50/pr

$33.50/pr w/WP2 II (+$1.50 - car adapter)

$50/4-ea w/WP2 II and adapter

Shipped

i sent a email off saying ill test a couple

They seem to be from the same factory I got the eX-cell 3100s made in and also the Redilasts and CKs are made in, you get a choice of positive nipple design.

If ordered in a high enough quantity by xtar (to get a lower bulk rate and save on shipping) I can see the lowest reasonable price for a large-ish group buy being around $16.50-18 shipped for a pair. This is based on a low estimate of shipping to xtar HQ as I assume that isn't far from the factory, and also assuming no import taxes and relatively low outbound shipping charges (DX etc can do it cheap).

By the way, there are some very nice pictures of these new cells in the Xtar S1 thread in the LED flashlights section on CPF.

Would be intrested in a definate price, and wonder if the pcb,s would be better then the 2600 that you couldnt draw 5 amps from.

Pics from CPF (gopajti)

Thanks for doing that, I always have trouble with linking to pictures.

They look good, does any one know the maxium current draw the PBC,s can handle and the voltage cut off ?

If they are from the same OEM factory, the PCM they encouraged to use with these cells has a 2.5v cut-off and a max discharge of around 2C if I remember correctly, so about 6.2A.

No prob :) I'm really looking forward to these.

The minimum retail price from Xtar for the 18650-3100Mah is $13.42ea so the minimum allowed sale price for 4-3100Mah batteries & a WP2II charger set is $70.29, I've had the 3100 for almost 2 weeks but am waiting for my Xtar S1 to get here to test them against the Xtar 18700-2600Mah and see how they hold up in a 3000 Lumen Cannon. I'll post more when the batteries are available, right now they only have samples and you can't get any to put up for sale so for now you'll have to settle for the 2600Mah which is still a great battery and almost $7 cheaper till the Top Dogs are ready for sale.

That's a good price as I payed a bit more then that each for redilast 2600.

Where can I get these? And what would a second runner-up be?

I will have them as soon as they are released for sale, like I said in my last post they only have a certain amount of samples for all their distributors and a few to send out to people that have their products to do testing and get feedback on them. They are Panasonic 3100Mah 18650's.

Sounds like these the same as the Callie's Kustoms...different wrapper?

I'm in for a group buy!!!

The cell used would be the same - a Panasonic 3100mAh NCR18650A - but depending on who adds the PCB to the cell, different protection circuits may be used. Then they are wrapped with heatshrink and labelled by the distributor.

Long story short, while these batteries are similar to a Callies, they may not have the same protection board installed.

We are all finding out just how important a good quality PCB is to a cells performance. I do not know how expensive PCB's are, but they can ruin a good cells performance. Whatever Callie's, AW, and Redilast uses, works well. As do many other quality cell distributors. Please use a good quality PCB on your cells!

Hi All,

Is the group buy still on?

+1 here.
