It finally arrived , ordered well before Christmas , it didnt get here till the 29th , at least I didnt have to wait till next year .
My first Navy was the K-631 , and after getting it I thought it a little on the large side , and decided I wanted a smaller version .
The K-628 really hits the spot , its just the right size for a pocket - camp - utility knife . My sample is tight , and I mean tight , its going to take a lot of work and time for the blade to loosen up , and I actually like it like that . The build quality is excellent for the purchase price , the blade is thick and solid , well ground and finished . The lock is good and big , and square , locks up good and tight giving a really solid feel giving the user confidence in the knife .
Over all , no complaints , now the only niggle towards the negative , if it could be such , the clip is stiff , painfully so . So you know , the knife once clipped to a pocket etc is really going to hang on tight .
The blade on this one was sharp but not shaving sharp from the factory .
Im very impressed so far with this knife , its 99% what I wanted , and I dont know how it could be 100% , unless Navy was to do a K-628 D2 [ D2 Tools Steel Blade ] . Seriously , if it cost another 10-15 dollars , id pay that !
Great knife , if you want a decent cheap lock back , you really need to check out the Navy K-628
