I have this exact Benchmade this was cloned after. Without pulling it out of the drawer and meticulously comparing them, this clone looks spot on.
Edit: I couldnāt resist checking my knife. Looks like the clone got basically everything right except the pocket clip says āBenchmade U.S.A.ā instead of just āBenchmade.ā Also the pocket clip is shaped slightly different. Anyway, close enough for horseshoes and hand grenades.
I have a deep carry benchmade clip that I want to try installing on this clone. Just waiting to find my torx screw driver set that seems to be missing at the moment. That would really have me loving this knife even more!
Thanks for checking! I had actually noticed that as well while watching reviews of the authentic version but forgot to mention it.
Actually, maybe you could confirm this: the standoffs on my version are a dark blue (difficult to tell in the photos). I believe the authentic has lighter blue standoffs?
It is indeed a clone and it is still my favourite overall. It has stellar reviews, the quality is outstanding and I love the sinkevich design.
The seller I purchased it from on Ali no longer has it listed and I actually canāt find it listed anywhere other than on DH gate now which I never use. Search āzt0542cfā and it comes up.
Iām sorry but am I the only one who is disgusted by this? Your a Chinese company making a direct copy of somebody elseās design and you put their name on it!? Itās bullshit! Sorry for the language but Iām so damn mad about this stuff. I like ganzos and other copy cat brands but they put their name on it. Like knockoffs hell love em but HATE and I mean HATE a fake.
+1 ā¦ :+1:
No, your not aloneā¦not by a long shot. It is patheticā¦ā¦ā¦ :rage: ā¦ Just outright criminal. Surely nothing to brag aboutā¦ā¦ :person_facepalming:
Just outright robberyā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦
I have the real one and it looks identical :person_facepalming: :rage:
Will upload some pictures to see if thereās any difference, they even replicated the stonewashed blade finish and the little blue anodized nut/spacer, impressive.
Edit:
I spotted some key differences:
BENCHMADE U.S.A
The nuts underneath the CF are black
The BM logo is light grey not black, and itās not because of wear, this is a shelf queen.
Same with the osborne logo
But without getting up close they look pretty much identical
Since 2010 all genuine benchmades have been produced in the U.S. They did the right thing and brought jobs back home. They pay their workers a living wage ,and spend money in R&D to create original designs. Without a doubt their profit margin took a hit so why would they do these things? Itās called patriotism. Itās putting made in the U.S.A on your product so that when your fellow countrymen look at, buy, or use your product they know theyāre supporting fellow Americans. Made in the U.S.A comes at the cost of fair wages to citizen of my country; if you didnāt pay it donāt put it on your product.
Like I said make a copy like this one. Make it as exact as you can for half the price or less Iāll buy it with a smile. But donāt put benchmade on it, and for damn sure donāt put made in the U.S.A.
No, I too am disgusted. I am no longer into the knife scene (~5yrs) & do not recall seeing a clone that close to the original. Itās just extremely blatant.
While Iām sure the āS90V bladeā will quickly prove to be a fake upon sharpening Iāve found that most people in the knife hobby do not/cannot even sharpen a knife. & so this clone will essentially be a spot on copy for them in all intents & purposes. But yeah, I (& Iām sure a few others) will never seek to own one & am thoroughly disgusted by it.
Hate, it is more just total disgust I feel. :person_facepalming:
And no, the knife in this thread is just a complete FAKE. Not a copy, just a fake; right down to the fake logo and fake name placed on a fake knife.
Benchmade was started in 1988. Shortly after they moved from California to Clackamas, Oregon producing knives there under the name Benchmade. I think it was in 1996 they relocated to Oregon City, Oregon to a much larger facility.
Apart from some Red Class products, which were produced in their āoff shore facilitiesā for a few short years; Benchmade has produced more than 90% of its knives in Oregon. Also since 2010, all Red Class production knives have been discontinued, and as such, every Benchmade labeled knife is made in the United States.
A ācopyā is one thing, a āfakeā takes it to a whole new detestable levelā¦ā¦ā¦ IMO.
