As you read this, some may think I should be ashamed of myself. Maybe I should. But on Black Friday I spent over $2000 at Home Depot. Iâm more ashamed of THAT than I am with what follows.
Here is another item worth looking for, a chance to score a really good deal.
For some time now, HD has had these 4000mAh âPocket Juiceâ power banks. the price was $14.97 and they can be found in electrical with all the CenTECH CE Tech (thanks poiihy) branded electronics and connectors.
On Black Friday, they brought out a separate and special display of these and put it on the floor with all the other special BF offerings. There was special pricing of those at $9.88, a nice price! I never got a shot of the display as most stores sold thru in the first day or 2! On BF I was in a HD with a friend late in the day and when he came across the display he bought the remaining 7 that were left. He knows I travel a lot and asked me to keep my eyes open for âas many as I can getâ
They were scarce, it wasnât until about 3 weeks ago that I finally found one and it rang up for $9.88.
Then 2 weeks ago I came across 2 more, but now they were on clearance priced at $7.50.
So I grabbed those 2 and went up to the customer service desk. I told them I bought 1 of these last week for $9.88 and now they are $7.50, and if they would please refund the difference to my card. As I explained earlier, what they actually do is give full credit for the original purchase, then allow you to buy it back at the sale price. So I did that and while I was at it, I bought the other 2. Now I have a total of 3, each costing me $7.50
Now, it REALLY gets interesting.
A couple of days ago I traveled north to an HD I thought might have the 24 packs of EcoSmart bulbs for a penny. I struck out on that, but I did find this.
WOW!
Now they are down to $4.90. SoooooooooooooâŚâŚ. I brought the 4 that I found up to the Customer Service Desk and asked, well you already know
So now I have those 4, plus the 3 from before for a total of 7, all bought at $4.90 each.
Now here is a little secret. When I got those last 4, one of them rang up for $14.97. At first I couldnât figure out what happened and why one was more. They looked IDENTICAL in every way, except for the UPC code.
The ONLY difference is the UPC code on the back
The one on the left rang up for $14.97, the one on the right, $4.90. Even so, the service desk gave it to me for the $4.90.
Now the best part!!!
Only another 5 miles to the next HD, just over the State line. So I go, still trying to score a 24 pack of light bulbs. I struck out on that, but I did fine 1 more Pocket Juice power bank. By now I know which UPC code is to âgoodâ one.
I look for the numbers at the end, â551â and that lonely power bank had the good number!
Massachusetts stores have price scanners in their isles, so I walked it over to make sure it would scan at $4.90.
I was shocked!
$2.40!!!
So, I took that one over the Customer Service and told them recently I had bought 7 of these at $4.90 and now they were $2.40 and would theyâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚâŚ
They did.
And BTW it wasnât until yesterday that I realized they forgot to charge me for the 8th one, I got that one free.
Today I was in my local HD and found a 9th one, it rang up for $2.40. It was mixed in with the regular stock of the ones that ring up for $14.97. Once again, they look identical, except for the UPC code.
I took pictures of each at the self checkout.
$14.97 â4K POCKERJUIâ
$2.40 âBF 4000 MAHâ (I take it âBFâ stands for Black Friday)
In a very short while these will be pulled and marked at a penny.
Look for them, there will be some because they are hard for the MET team to spot and pull.
