Home Depot Deal Alerts & Discussion Thread

I still don’t understand how to get something for a penny. I’ve read it a number of times. Do all stores do this? Are store managers aware of this? How do you know what is a penny? Anyway, can’t figure it out.

Simply put, anything that goes on clearance, has a yellow sticker with a date on it will probably go to a penny. Right now, anything with a date 10/1/2016 has a good chance of being a penny. To actually buy it you should go thru self checkout. You probably won’t be allowed to buy it thru a cashier. The self checkout terminals have a price check function so that you can first verify what the price will be. You need to scan the UPC code, NOT the yellow sticker. Scanning the yellow sticker usually causes the checkout to lockup.

Yes, all stores do it, everybody is aware of it.

That is simply put, YMMV

Ok. I’m going to give this a go again:)

!!

Those Phillips bulbs you posted DCH are still 9 something 6 but they did end in 00 so I guess they decided to start them on their way to a penny. Which makes it hard to track because the date is so old.

Hey, I found a light like yours, only it’s different.
did you find 4?

Last night I had to go to Staples to get an SSD. Just so happens there is a HD next door. :innocent:

Found these for a penny, there were 7
I have used these before. I had to repair an underground type UF power cable, 6 gauge. I needed 3 of these and they cost me over $30.
It worked well though, I made the repair about 15 years ago and all is well. The included heat shrink tubing is very thick and sturdy, not at all like the stuff we generally use.

DCH yes I got 4, I seen the one you found in the past but haven’t seen them in a while. Those BD power packs and chargers are about to hit 3 price here. Hoping to rack up on them, and the CAT stuff I posted before. There all over the place in the overhead bins. Hoping they hit a penny sooner rather than later. They’re setting up the spring resets so they’re doing spring cleaning.

There’s a portacable compressor with a 16g finish nailer and hose forb50.02 but I haven’t found one, saw them at the 4 price now they gone

Found 2 of these Dewalt 41pc bit sets mixed into a hanging post display. They were the Odd Duck so I took a walk over to the SCO. Rang up as $7.50 and I grabbed the other pack too. The other sets hanging and as advertised are $12.97

These 2 inch opening spring clamps are regular price but for $0.99 I had to get a couple. Kinda large and as big as a hand, pretty strong grip

Last of the yellow tag C-clamps, 2in opening for $1.10 I need to stop buying these…

Leftover BF deal still getting cheaper, there were still 4 hooks full, now $4.98 for 2 pack folding utility knife. They have regular priced singles for $7.50.

New display of the Bucket Buddy type Husky tool organizer $6.97
Has double pockets on the outer perimiter and single row on the inside. Actually nice for $7

Nice finds vw. Thank for the allert.

I think dcho is telling us something with those two pics, but I can’t figure it out.

The date on those netgear routers is 10/31 so I think he’s just sharing a good deal. They shouldnt be a penny yet. they will be in a week or so though

I only bought 4 if that’s what you mean.

nice router deal

One strange thing happened. Home Depot actually raised the price of a Black Friday item.
This display was put out for Black Friday, a 40W equiv LED light bulb with blue tooth speaker. I bought a couple, turns out they weren’t that good

They didn’t sell well at all and all the stores had plenty left over.
They were first priced at $14.88 then were reduced to $12.00. A couple of weeks ago, down to $7.54

Back then, I grabbed 2, and went up to customer service. I got refunded for the 2 I bought on BF and bought them back at half price along with 2 more. Total cost was about the same as the first 2, so in essence I got 2 more for free. (or a penny)
Since then, I have have been watching them for when they would go to the “2” price, probably around $3.82 or so.
But NO, the few stores around here I have been to have actually raised the price to over the BF price!

I reported a couple of days ago I scored some mini 8” florescent under counter fixtures in Massachusetts for a penny.
The power cords for the JUNO lights right next to them also went to a penny.

Back here in CT, both those items are on clearance at the “6” price though.

And this $40 “All Terrain” Power Bank just went from $30.06 to $10.03

Also there are some hand tools that have hit the “3” price, for example this 3/8 inch speed wrench
Still not cheap enough for me though.

Less than $5 for a bath faucet :confounded:

Some stuff to watch

with bonus showerhead! lol

What if I want to put a showerhead on my faucet?? Now I can!

Crank scan that compressor it’s already down to the 2 price $50.02

Crank scan that compressor it’s already down to the 2 price $50.02

I just want to know who thought it was a bright idea (no pun intended) to combine a speaker and a light bulb? What purpose does that serve?

I despise Glacier Bay faucets. Too many plastic tailpieces have fallen apart on me. You might get me to take one at a penny if it had a $10 bill inside the package.
