Olight X9 @ 25k Lumen

Oh yeah I’m in… gota get me that X9!

Damn it… I knew coming back to BLF is bad news for my wallet, just as I thought I got the brightest 4 XH-P70 light, then this one come out :person_facepalming: ,
I’m not surprised it cost $400, if Nitecore TM36 find buyers, this one will too, I’m not surprise if some of us here on BLF willing to spend that kind of money,Althought there’s nothing Budget about it.
I’ll bite if there’s GB with the price around $2xx

Has anyone seen a lanyard attachment for the X9? Would be nice to sling that over a shoulder than needing one hand dedicated to holding that big honking club of a light.

That’s pretty good if they manage 17500 lm*h with 8 cells. I just did a runtime test on the Olight X7 (which has 4 cells) on medium (1120 lumens) to test an XHP70 light and it totaled 7400 lumen hours. This means, if the numbers on the X9 are right, it would be almost 20 % more efficient. I don’t think Olight would do an unregulated light, which would be more efficient, so it has to be something else.

Would imply X7 is not efficient (under 80), which I doubt is less than 90 efficiency right now, you don’t get massive numbers and good runtimes on that massive Turbo with low efficiency.

And the new X7R is 12 klumen, in the same size package…

Integrated Recharge with a cleverly hidden USB port too. The finger grooves on the side of the tube opposite the switch are interesting. I’m not sure if I’ll like that more than the uniform block knurling on the X7.

If they go for a custom battery they can increase the Wh density by at least 50-60% compared to 18650 cells

Honestly, $400 isn’t too bad considering what you’re getting. Also, nothing else on the market that even comes close to this beast, other than the custom stuff being made on CPF, and what is that 40,000 lumen light selling for anyway? Way more than $400 I’m guessing.

vinh is working on one that will be 70,000 lumens i think
guys unreal

That would be 63lm/$, no >1k lm flashlight does archive this ratio.
I expect it to be $560-760 without cells.

The Olight X7 Marauder does 45lm/$.

Last I heard, Vinh is working on mule XHP70, more than 20 LEDs, in X65 and TK75.

I believe that $400 is the number that the company quoted for that light.

Btw, has anyone heard ANYTHING since SHOT Show about when the X9 will become available for purchase?

Just this…

What? No way. Why would you think that?

Based on what evidence?

It is a bit underwhelming what working on a bit light means for Vinh, bare LEDs with nothing to collect and at least give a mediocre 2candelas per lumen, and just using a couple of BLF direct driver 17mm PCBs hanging by the wires or insulated in kapton take inside the host.

All this hype has finally faded for me, it seems the throw of this thing will be quite small like under 500M. Maybe I will pass, after a while flood gets boring.
LED’s are getting all about lumens & numbers, just add more & more, no wonder it’s cheap. If this thing had a 1600-2000M throw with considerable spill/flood I would be all over it. I remember the days of aircraft landing light mods like LK14 with their amazing wide far throwing beams. I had wished LED’s would go in that direction just further.

I saw vinh’s 40000lumen video & its just like these videos of 50” light bars., too much close range light that is boring.

Still a crazy amount of light, i think this is the realm of enough for a hand held light. They need to work on massive throw.

How about gettin the X7R Marauder (12k lm) for 165 euros, which is 72.3 Lumens per euro?
which translates to 190$ , so thats 63 lm/ $
think it was a pretty good deal all in all, right?
