1/ It is celebrating the new year but mainly used as a family reunion because many people work far away from home. These homes are cleaned befor the first day (almost like “a fresh start”). Also food is already cooked for that day, so the day itself can be dedicated to the relatives. People give presents to each other, or money in red envelopes.
The second day people give food and money to the less fortunate. It is the day that married daughters visit their parents. It is also considered the birthday of all dogs, and they will be gives special treats.
The third day will be spend at home, in the inner circle of the family. In areas that have a short new year period, the fourth day is the day of corporate dinners, a day before returning to business. And on the fifth day, there will be fireworks!
2/ Everywhere that a family meets, there will be eating involved. But there will be no coocking on the first day.
