Manker MK35 Prototype, Review link in the first post

I’d like to go out for some beamshots.
Unfortunately, the light has been stuck and can’t be moved since 4am this morning.

Any intensity measurement or reflector size ?

Output measure is usually the last thing I do.

You know , everyone here is a bit curious about output . Thanks again for all the updates …

I hope this thing can compete with tn42 and be $100 or less

Many collectors look only for that.
But the top speed is not the only thing that makes a good race car. Many others parameters and specs are important also (weight, size, regulation, level spacing, interface, cost), otherwise people would go around carrying a lightouse or a streetlight. Or both.

Since the output test is the quickest, I like to keep that as one of the last things (that, updating the runtime plots from % to lumens).
Now I have a new camera and I will have to make many shots in order to found the combination that matches what my eyes see.
This will take a whole evening, and it may also result in me not being happy with the pics and going back to the old camera or taking more pics.

This time I will do the output measurement next. So in the meanwhile I can publish something.
But you see the blue light on the switch? Means that the batteries are not running low. When they are low it becomes purple, then red. It is still blue. This may take some time.

But it’s got a 100mm head. The light in the image must be 90-95mm as that’s a 3.5” HDD under it and they are 102mm wide and there looks to be a fair chunk of room either side of it.

Let’s hope it has a thin bezel in that case lol

Less.

Maybe.

Ooooh, subscribed…. very interesting

Intriguing…

I’m still very interested

Subscribed, I really like the XHP35 HI emitter, thanks for the tease

That’s not the light I put in my runtime box.

sometimes you have to gamble.
After 33.5 hours at mid mode I decided it was time to move the light to see how much was left, since the battery indicator was still showing batteries not close to discharge. They were around 3.7 volts, so I was only halfway.
So for this light enought runtime plots.

This light?
Let’s give it a name

For all you who ask the size of the head, is this the measure you wanted?

cheeky so n so…. just move it down towards the table a little bit more

It looks a little bit smaller than I expected. :frowning:

Ok.

LOL, well played.

A bit closer to the table :stuck_out_tongue:

and maybe 2cm nearer the table
the thing is, is that in the heat fin or on the fatter part?

We are getting close to 90mm head by the looks :open_mouth:

Just looking at it the TM16GT had a tube diameter of ~52mm and a head diameter of 89mm

Comparing it to the U21 it’s got 4 cells VS 1 cell. It’ll surely take 18650s due to the the body tube thickness. The U21 had 1300 lumens, lets assume this gets to 2400 (a big number for the XHP35 HI’s). The U21 had a head diameter of 59mm and throw of 700m, This looks to be more like 90mm.

Personal guess is that it’ll beat the TM16GT for throw by a bit but wont have the raw of the TM16GT. I’ll be over the moon if its got similar throw to a TN42 but I’m guessing something 1200m ish

EDIT
Vostro BK-FA09S
Total length: 199mm / Light body diameter: 50.5mm / Light head diameter: 83.5mm

So looks like the body diameter is the same and the head diameter looks to be about the same. This claims 1490m of throw.

I’m more than intrigued! I would update my guess on throw but I’ve put my guess out there. I’ll leave it at that

I did’t buy K70 TN42 and FA09S cause I will wait for BLF giga thrower.
You wanna hurt me!!!
