i wound up with 300 6 cell aftermarket packs condaining dlg d18650.
they were all at 3.6x v and testing them at 1a all i tested were over 2200mah.
2 years later ones i have built into items are still fine.
these were new packs that had sat a while then brought for recycling by a business associate.
sold a lot to the flea market flashlight dealers at several large markets here.nothing but good reports.

masione outlet on ebay.
dell e64xx 6 cell ā€œ5200ā€ mah
this was a dud pack.seller sent replacement and didnt want it back.
so teardown time!
lo and behold 6 +fp 18650 1800mah green cells.
testing them now but it appears 5200mah is a big fat lie!
edit.these cells are averaging 1811.
cells truthfully marked but pack capacity grossly overstated!

Hi guys can someone help me how to disassemble my defective xiaomi 16000mah powerbank to pull those 18650s inside and determine which one is still usefull. Can anyone share links for pics or videos. Thank you very much!

Hey guys.

I pulled apart a HP HSTNN-LB89. Label was removed prior to me getting hold of itā€¦.

Contained 8x18650 cell - marked as ZD ICR18650 SY.
Nothing moreā€¦ā€¦any idea of who makes these ? Only thing i can find online is ZD refering to Zhongdaoā€¦ā€¦.

Any thoughts welcome - they are wrapped in a dark blue.

Thank you for the info. subscribing to the thread.

alienware 17 laptop would not charge.indicated no battery installed.replaced it and laptop is fine.
ā€œ92wh standardā€™.hole in one mosfet so something bad happened.
pack contained 8 lg e1 3200mah 4.35v cells.
they were all at 3.1v.
testing under way.

Hello BLF,
I have an Acer 1810TZ Notebook from 2009, and the Accu-Pack UM09E36 wont charge at Least, so i open it now, after i found this Thread. So i will Tell what i Found, for your List at Page 1.

I found 6 Cells and 4 Of them have 3,48V and 2 have 0V

The Pack was Ratet with 11,1V 5600mah

At the Wrap (Orange) from the Cell it stand Sanyo UR18650ZT N25A

The Internet say: Sanyo UR18650ZT 2800mAh (4,3V)

I have in December giftet my first 18650 Flashlight, so i dont have a Li-Ion Charger right now, i charge at the Moment in the Flashlight(s), so i cant say anything about the Rest Capacity. When i have buy a Charger, i test the cells and post it.

Greets Basty

P.s. Sorry for my bad English!

I donā€™t see the Dell 60Wh Type T54FJ in your table. It contains 6 X LGABC21865 4.35 volt 2800mAH cells. Here is a link to a post on them: Which laptop battery pack yields the best, highest capacity 18650's - #51 by Ansarogu - Rechargeable Batteries - BudgetLightForum.com Iā€™ve gotten a couple packs of these for free from work. I guess charging to 4.2V they will be 2500mAH to 2600mAH and Iā€™m ok with that for free! It sure beats the Crapfires. They come from Dell 6420 - 6430 laptops.
lygte-info.dk has a review of them titled LG 18650 C2 2800mAh (Orange) I cannot get a link to that review to work here for anything.

I havenā€™t really been following this thread so sorry if this was posted before.

This guy made me giggle

JACKPOTā€¦!!!

Ego 56v tool pack, = 42cells, Samsung 25Q
Ryobi 40v tool pack, = 20 Samsung 13Q

Well, Iā€™ve tried to get into the recycle bin at my local Home depot to no avail, for months now. Every time into it, a employee questioned me and more or less stopped me from any further exploration of their binā€¦
This all changed last week.

HD moved the recycle bin to a out of the way, kind of out of sight location. So, last week was my first bin pick. No more questions from employeeā€™s that now donā€™t see me dropping off my recycles and exploring whats in their binā€¦

Got a couple tool packs last week out of HD recycle bin. No good. All the cells were 18650, LG1100mAh, but had 1.1v or less. Tossed them all in my recycle ammo box after a wrestling match with the packs disassembly.

Yesterday morning got lucky. Got a Ryobi with 20 Samsung 13Q, all cells 3.1-3.3 volt.

Now for the Ego, a massive tool pack, chock full of 18650, got to be the recyclerā€™s JACKPOTā€¦ 42 Samsung 25Q all cells 3.2-3.4v. Yes, I know they arenā€™t 30Q or Sanyo 3600mAh, but for free, not bad.
They seem to be hi drain cells. Power my highest amp lights as good as any of my best high quality batteries, says my trusty amp probe. And the ones I charged so far, charged up great, didnā€™t even get warm in the lii-500, and took a full charge.

Getting good at taking these tool packs apart, a slight art to it. They sure donā€™t make it easy.
Havenā€™t got them all charged up yet, but dang, more cells then I know what to do with, lol

This is getting fun, thanks BLF for showing me the light, to the recycle binā€¦

Going to start to get picky on what I take from the bin. What tool packs have the best cellsā€¦?

Oh, by the way, 56v does pack a nice wake up shock, wear gloves, be careful with the egoā€¦

I found 3 ryobi 40v packs last week at home depot one person saw me bagging them up and walk away and said did he just steal those. I keep on walking. I always walk up with a bag with something in it so I can dig. And walk away with a bag of stuff if need be.even at best buy I turn my back between me and the bin fiddle with the bags then shine my phone light down in the rubber flaps and look around. Of I see something I grab it and walk and donā€™t turn or look back. What are they going to do to me? They still get their tax credit for participating in recycling its not determined by how much they return just that they are enrolled in it I use to work at Lowes. Its not stealing because its recycling bin. But store policy was if we say someone in the store actually stealing stuff we werenā€™t allowed to say anything to them or touch them in anyway but go to a manager. If you need a cover story to go into the bins. 1) my brother dropped off the wrong batteries he recycled my good ones not my dead ones.
2) Iā€™m with the technology dept at (insert local community college) we use these to teach the students robotics building and skills. I was happy I found the packs but not so happy to find it only has 1300mah cells the smaller tool packs are the way to go. I just got into after a week. My boss helped me there was two tiny security screws I didnā€™t have a bit for. Lowest I had was a t 15 needed a t-10 so now this weekend Iā€™ll test all 60 cells and see whatā€™s worth keeping. If anything I have a lifetime of free vaping cells. Save my good bought cells for lights

generic hp pr06 replacement.
was doa.
battmon showed 6.7v and it did not rise after 7 hours.wear level 100%.
so the bms could not trickle them back.
cells were surprise! samsung icr18650-22fm.dated 2012
all at 2.35v
i set all 3 pairs into a tp4056 based homebrew charger all in parallel.
after 5 hours of trickle they went to 1a.
the cells are still like new.the bms had locked out.
an odd case where an aftermarket pack had good cells.
and the low voltage kept them fresh.
seller was good about the situation and promptly refunded the transaction and said to recycle the pack.
i did:-)

I got some pink Samsung ICR18650-26Fā€™s from a used tool battery pack.

They charged upto ~2200mhA-ish (far from 2600mAh when new) in my XTAR VC2 (they were not hot at all when charging, at 0.5V)

Maybe itā€™s a wrong impression, but I found they ran my Convoy S3 (8x7135) a tad hotter than other 18650ā€™s I have (Or I forgot how hot this light can get  )

Need to double-check that!

As internal resistance goes up, cell running temp goes up. The more cells are used (in the lifetime sense) the more resistance they develop.

So no mystery about running temp of cells. But maybe you were saying the leds are running with more power aka hotter?

If you live in Cannuckistan and you cant get your light to chooch Ave is you man!

Yes I mean the flashlight gets hotter to the touch, and quicker, even in medium mode. So yes, those cells are well used, I will not use them in the summer for sure :stuck_out_tongue:

that means these cells are better than your others.
measure your tailcap current.bet its higher.
this is a good thing.they are not well used they are better.
