Ok, what do you want for Nov group buy from Dinodirect (updated 1st GB for 2012!!)

How are you getting the P2a for $22? I don't have any DD gift coupons, what codes are you using to get the $22 price?

Also, I think 1x 14500 will be risky on a P1a/BA10, it will run ok but it will bypass the circuit and run direct drive, which can damage the LED if the current is too high.. The 2x AA lights should be fine also, as long as you don't mix partially used cells with fresh off the charger ones or different chemistries, I keep most of my eneloops in pairs anyway and if not can top-off two seperate ones then know they are both the same.

Even if you do mix poorly matched cells eneloops are very tough, I found two a friend had run flat down to 0.01v each and left them for about a month and after recharging they performed fine at nearly full capacity.

Use oneworldweshare (-5.00$) for 30.00+ orders, then use 400 Dinopoints (-4.00$), then you got your 22$. If you have already done the surveys (200 Dinopoints), then ask your sister ;) who lives in your room haha to do the surveys and gather the 200 points. And maybe she forgot that her birthday was tomorrow and not in August 2012 ;)

DD gift coupons (DD giftcards) .. you get them from DD customer service (chat) when Dino has delivered wrong/fake items. In case of wrong received products they offer partial refunds in form of very generous DD GC's (non-personalized!) which can be used by any 1 DD customer as payment method (as opposed to paypal payment method).

Oh, i didnt know (exactly) about the direct drive. direct drive means a.o. that the brightness isnt regulated by the PCB (and you would lose the 2 modes) .. and it's then the same behaviour as with competitive products (Fenix LD10, Jetbeam PA10, Jetbeam BA10, ..). Acceptable, i guess. Most importantly, neither the PCB nor the LED (as you are fearing) are going to be damaged; this is official Klarus and Cree info/specs (in email communication with Klarus and Cree engineers). (sorry for me being the smarta$$ hehe..)

Yes, i would guess that Eneloops are tough. Will buy some Eneloop AA's and AAA's one day -- they're a must, the originals!

The topic of poorly matching cells (differently topped off Eneloops, Lithium primaries, Li-Ions, Akalines, ..) of a singular chemistry and brand has been documented in articles (yawn) and in videos too:

Hmm.. I'm not sure what you mean about my sister (I do actually have one who's birthday is in August, but she doesn't live in my room!) I did one of the surveys just now but the other seems unavailable. Thanks for reminding me of that $5 off coupon though, that's a good % off.

I think the P1a will probably be fine, though I wouldn't always trust what the engineers/manufacturers say; it reminds me of Nitecore explicitly stating their D11.2 could run 14500 li-ion cells ok, but in reality it ran direct drive (dimming etc still worked but no regulation and very high current). This led to LEDs overheating and boost circuits getting damaged.. The P1a also uses a boost only circuit so there can't be regulation of current from a cell until it's output voltage (under load) drops below the vf of the LED (around 3.2v with an XP-G I think), this would worry me if I was considering running li-ions as at 4.2v fresh off the charger current could be 1.8A plus, which would be unhealthy for the LED at best.

I would just measure current with a 14500 fresh off the charger as soon as you get it just to be sure, if it's below 1.6A then you should be fine. I certainly wouldn't try IMR 14500s in it though as they have very low internal resistance and would possibly damage the LED even in short bursts.

good idea. i dont have a DMM yet (although they cost only 3$ on ebay, made in Chi*a) but i will ask my neighbors to help out with the amperage measurement. Those 3$ digital multimeters dont really handle very well amperages over 200mA, although they are "designed for" up to 10A.

regarding the sister .. check your pm! ;)

P1A would be nice for EDC but I would really like lower low...seriously something like 3lumens, then the 30, then the 90 or whatever.

Fenix LD10 has great modes, 3-13-45-100.

Fenix is a world-class company, China's #1 brand in mass manufacturing high quality flashlights; their very first public flashlight model was released in 2005, the Fenix L1P. If both the Fenix LD10 R5 and the Klarus P1A cost equally 15$, then i would be hard-pressed to take a well-reasoned decision and choose one over the other. I would have to compare side by side, beam pattern, actual throw, tint, tint, tint, etc.

However, in RL since the LD10 (55$@HKE) and the P1A (7$@DD) are priced world's apart -- this is an easy one. For sure, the P1A has a much better price-performance ratio.

( and for the very perfect EDC i still prefer the Quark X 1x 14500 over any other contenders )

Summer - is there any chance we could still get the olight for this price?

SAVE10ME does not work.

Hi friend, I am sorry, this product is out of stock, happy new year.

I will tell you all if there are some new coupons.

Try:

At the time of writing this post, the code works.

Looks like the code the other forum got for 6% off no longer works though. :(

we cant celebrate thanksgiving, black friday, blue monday, pre-xma, christmas, and new year everyday in the year, can we?

i'll be back placing more FL-related orders next black friday (4Sevens, Dinodirect, ..)

I have contacted you about this olight i ordered 15 days ago, still order seems to be pending, did you ship finally?Did you ever have this in stock?

is that an offense? :D

ordering stuff with DD ... hilarious!!! (thanks God that i'm in with some 75 bucks only *ggg*)

lol, just wanted to know how do they work, they might have some things on their site but it might never come in stock! 75$ only? I am waiting more than 300$ orders from them!!!

Yikes, did you really order 300USD from DD?

I like to stick up for DD since I have not had any problems (yet) but I wouldn't order $300 in one shot with those guys, just too risky.

Are you going to post the new lower price? Anyway I think that the GroupBuy price should be lower than regular price with a coupon, otherwise its not a GroupBuy just 5 pages of advertising for your company with the same price as always.

Howly s%&t :O After that vid, another related vid pops up. Man, slightly squeezed cell started to exhale toxic stuff and then caught fire :O I really don't care if CR123 lights are used by special forces or whatever, I don't plan to use them (aside from being quite expensive)

Thats exactly what should we (those who bought P1A  ) do (if someone finally will receive one  )

Quite big for EDC (ITP A2/Olight I2, Nitecore EZAA or Fenix E15 or AAA sized lights are better for EDC, IMO)

Man, I think p-p ratio is excellent even at original price ($30, or $25 with coupon. Not everyone has those giftcards  )

Hi everyone, I am back for work now. Happy new year to you all. Sorry for the late reply. I have contacted with our suppliers but these products is lack of stock, I am very sorry about that.
