OPUS BT-C2000 Charger Power Adapter Faulty?

Recently received the OPUS BT-C2000 charger, and it seems to work fine (so far).

However, whenever the charger is doing intensive tasks (such as high current charging), it has been noticed that a mild electric shock(?) is possibly felt when touching the power adapter!? Even placing a hand near the adapter (and not touching it), it seems the hairs on my hand seem to move a bit (definitely feel something like that). This is possibly due to an apparently strong electric field(?) which seems to radiate from the power adapter!?

There is no problem with "shocks" or any hairs moving on my hand or anything else happening whenever the charger is not doing any intensive tasks.

I don't recall any other power adapters doing this regardless of load.

The power adapter is (supposed to be) double insulated according to the label on it. If so, surely there should not be any risk of electric shock(?)

Is this a known issue with this 12 V 1 A power adapter? Is it faulty?

Note that my mains voltage here is 240 volts, so the charger is operating at the upper limit of its' operating voltage range.

In the meantime, I've ordered another power adapter rated at 12 V 1.5 A to replace this "iffy" 12 V 1 A adapter.

Expecting delivery of the replacement power adapter (@ 12V 1.5 A) within the next few days (hopefully).

It should be made clear that the original power adapter that came with the BT-C2000 charger has a US style plug. Unfortunately I ordered the replacement adapter with the US version plug also. Although I have plug adapters that will allow any plug to be used, there is the suspicion that these US plug version power adapters might use relatively lower grade or lower spec'd components because the adapter is intended to be used via mains voltages from 100 ~ 120 V ONLY within the US (and Canada), despite the power adapter being labelled as being able to run on mains voltages between 100 ~ 240 V.

Although these US plug style power adapters may "run" with higher mains voltage (up to 240 V, as is here), the higher mains voltage may make these adapters less safe owing to use of lower grade/spec'd components which can't really sustain the higher mains voltage(?) Maybe this is why I could feel something like a strong electric field and/or slight shock when using the original 12 V 1 A US plug adapter(?)

I recall reading somewhere where HKJ found that some US plug style adapters failed the high voltage test (for mains voltage 230 V +) which makes it unsafe to use at 230/240 V, but passed the high voltage test for lower mains voltage (110 ~ 120 V). It is this test failure at 230 V that makes me suspect that the US style plug power adapters are of lower grade / lower specification compared to power adapters that are designed specifically to run at mains voltage of 230 ~ 240 V.

I should have ordered the BT-C2000 charger with a 230/240 V power adapter (UK or EU version) to begin with!

It is now likely I'll have to order a UK or EU 230 V plug adapter, as the soon to arrive US plug 12 V 1.5 A adapter is possibly "unsafe" also(?)

Most US plug 110V –240V rated power supplies will work without any problem, but sometimes the EU plug ones have to pass through more safety tests and certifications, making them “safer”. As it is with the case of the power supply that comes with the SKYRC MC3000, (see HKJ’s review).

But I think as long as you don’t overload it and use it with a UPS / protected power strip everything will be fine.

I'm using mains power filters in conjunction with the charger. However, that doesn't stop one from getting an electric shock or whatever due to faulty or low spec'd chargers.

As mentioned before, the particular 12 V 1 A US adapter seems to emanate a strong electric field and I believe I'm getting a mild electric shock when touching the adapter when under load by the charger. Therefore this adapter I suspect is NOT safe.

So either this 12 V 1 A power adapter is faulty, or is under (or poorly) spec'd, or maybe both.

Still awaiting delivery of the 12 V 1.5 A US adapter, but I have doubts about the safety of this adapter also.

There is no sensation of strong electric field nor any electric shock coming from the new power adapter. So the original 12 V 1 A power adapter, which is suspected of being "faulty", has now been shelved and will never be used again.
