Nice light you are giving away!
thanks for the excitement and slim chance of winning it, so heck yeah i am in!
Again that question about favorite mod, dang very very hard!
all those things made by the machinists are not modded because made from scratch, that makes it a bit easier
all the wood, triples, insane builds, very tough
so I go again with the modded JM30
Edit for both bump and to say to X3 I really like this topic, cooool!
Congrats for your 1000+ posts -X3- and thanks for your great GAW!
Many great flashlight mods I've seen at BLF, but with no second thought, the best imo is CRX's Carbon Fibre & Brass that I'm proud to own! It's a handmade unique piece of art!
Hmm . . . one of my favorite and most used modded lights is my Revtronic (Nitefighter) BT40S bike light. In stock form is a 4x XP-G2 (/-4C tint) driven at/-875mA each in Turbo yielding +/- 1,200 lumens (measured in my D.I.Y. sphere). I swapped the XP-G2’s for Nichia 219C’s and boosted the driver to 4A (2A per emitter in Turbo) yielding 2,100 lumens in my sphere.
I’m currently in process of modding a 2nd BT40s with neutral white XP-G3’s and boosting that driver. I’ll likely drop max current down to 3A or so (for 1.5A per emitter) so low is more like a low and because 4A on the 1st light was overkill.
