12 days from order to arrival.
Note - I paid $1.95 for the 7 - 12 days shipping service. What blew me away is that it actually arrived in that time frame DURING the Chinese holiday.
Needless to say, GearBest is now moved to the head of my first choice sources.
Thanks for the info my friend, I have one ordered. :+1:
That is fantastic ship time especially considering it was right during the middle of the Chinese New Year Celebrations!!!
I have been using that service also my last few orders and have been amazed at how fast the packages come. So far the last 5 orders have arrived in 8 to 11 days. I am impressed. I usually try to wait up and order enough that the shipping charge is zero… it doesn’t take much $$ value. I’ll also ask a friend or two if they need anything and combine the orders.
GearBest is on top of their game as far as I am concerned!!! :+1:
I have 3 of the tomo v8 power banks and I love them. They just released a new version that’s $17 instead of $12-13 the t4 can use micro USB or a apple lightning cable to charge on that one and about 1/3 smaller. But I’m fine with the cheaper ones. Great for laptop pulls. Mine stay with 4 NCR b in all of them unless they are dead and don’t wanna wait to charge up throw in some stand by cells.
I keep one in the truck at all tomes just in case. And bring it with me in my work bag. And two for around the house. Whether its 70 or 80% effiency not sure don’t really care. It charges my phone about 3 1/2 times off 4 NCR b and more then happy with it.
I do want to add its only like a 1 amp USB input so it can take awhile to fully charge all 4 batteries so if your in a rush I’d suggest charging the batteries in a faster charger. I usually just plug it in when I go to bed and wake up its done. It can charge and discharge at the same time. With one or two batteries it charges much faster of course. When my last daughter was born I used it at the hospital to charge our phones and other 18650 batteries. For vape and flashlights. Flashlight makes the perfect ambient light.
A CPF member ownes the Tomo version, He said he charged the battery`s full and then did not use it for 3 weeks, when he came to use it, The battery`s were empty, And he was asking what the parasitic drain on this battery box is like.
I have the Soshine version, I charged the battery`s in the box a couple of weeks ago at around 4.16v , and am going to check the voltage when i find where i have stored it.
From HKJ”s review of the TLIFE branded version of this power bank self discharge is “Self discharge: 2mAh/day”
Tinderbox the CPF member you mention may be me & the cells were left in the TOMO for about 3 months.
They were old laptop pulls & I don”t know 100% if the problem was the cells or the power bank.
I have been keeping an eye on the power bank since however & it hasn”t discharged cells since ?
BTW nice to see you on this forum :+1:
I asked HKJ myself what the parasitic drain was like and he said it was low but i could not find the exact amount.
I wonder if your Tomo did not turn itself off for some reason we have all seen micro-controllers lock-up, Once i find my Soshine i will be able to see what voltage my cells have dropped too.
Hey John how tight a fit are the protected Panny B”s ?
I suppose that my cells could be longer than your version though, mine are 70mm & a very tight fit.
Thanks for the quick reply John :+1:
Mine are 70mm as well but I would consider the fit very tight.
Could just be a difference between what we both consider to be to tight or I suppose there could be a very small difference in the bay lengths.
I am going to try my protected Panny B”s in both my TOMO & Soshine again
EDIT: Just re-measured my protected Panny B”s & they are all spot on 70mm.
They fit in my Soshine power bank (tight fit) but to get them into my TOMO I would have to force them & risk damaging the cell wrap on the positive end.
There must be a very slight difference in the length of the bays between both power banks.
So that`s the answer the Soshine bays are slightly longer than the Tomo (or is it the contacts), there is a third re-brand of this battery bank but i cannot remember it`s name :)
Had the Tomo 4 cell version. Loved it until it gave out. I used it 24-7 as a battery charger, and cell phone charger. It spent over a year on my nightstand plugged in, I left the lid open and just swapped out cells as I needed…….
The 3rd re-brand you are thinking about is probably the TLIFE ?
There is also a new version of the TOMO V8-V4 the TOMO V8-T4.
Yes there is a difference of maybe half to 1mm between my Soshine & TOMO power banks.
Not a problem to me as I use unprotected cells in both.
Nowadays all the new Power Banks comes with automatic charge.
This device is cool since it displays the each battery consumption, that’s really awesome.
Recently I saw one which is basically is standalone speaker along with Radio and Power Bank too.
