BLF Thorfire interest group

I would like to see an improved TG06, less pwm.

I would be interested in TG06 with Nichia 4000K-5000K 90CRI

Uruguay

TG06 with less pwm, L-m-h with no memory/memory and moonlight option (.5 lumens or less). Also as host.

Thanks to caramba for creating this ThorFire interest group, We can hear more voice from you guys here now.
BTW, Could you please do me a favor to let me know what’s the necessity of moonlight mode to U? How important you think of its existence?

Moonlight is one of my most often used modes as we have a child that sleeps in our bedroom so I always use a sublumen mode flashlight when entering the room while he’s sleeping. Often times he’ll cry in the middle of the night or we need to change diapers or there’s a fever and we need to administer medicine (you don’t want to know where…), there’s been endless times where moonlight has been useful.

And if you don’t have a child, moonlight also helps when going to the bathroom or camping in the dark with night adjusted vision. I find that anything over 1 lumen is actually too bright if I’m just waking up. Obviously, high cri is also nice to have at night since more detaisl can be seen at lower levels of light.

TG06 with Nichia 4000K-5000K 90CRI and less PWM - I WOULD LOVE IT!

2 each of the Thorfire TG06 and VG10 for me.

Interested in 2-VG10 host

Very important. Probably my most used mode.

I am interested in Thorfire hosts, depending on availability and price. Might be cheaper/easier to wait for a sale and then buy the whole light though?

subscribed to thread.

Id be in for a TG06 high CRI nichia. And 4000-5000k lights in general.

Just a test.

moonlight BLF poll: What moonlight output do you prefer and why?

For a true EDC light, moonlight is a must. Thing is, people have different definitions of “moonlight”, and seem to conflate all of them. I prefer to distinguish them as “low-low”, “moonlight”, and “firefly”.

“low-low” is the brightest of the bunch, similar to low but actually lower. It’s probably a few lumens, good for grubbling around in a bag to find your keys.

“moonlight” is next down, maybe 1lm or so, enough for lighting up a clock from across the room at night without ruining your night-vision.

“firefly” is lowest, able to look right at the LED without squinting, a fractional-lumen, just enough to read something close-up without ruining your night-vision.

Again, some people find “moonlight” on their lights to be too bright, others not bright enough. Good luck trying to make everyone happy.

The brightness levels I see on my VG10 are about perfect for me. I’d recommend keeping those.

Ditto. Whatever light I have at night, I make sure is set on its lowest setting. I’m even using my S2+ less and less (read, hardly at all anymore) because generic “low” is just way too bright in the middle of the night.

I LOVE CRI

Lights went out here a few days ago. So time to put my new (Jan. 2017) VG10 to use as a nightlight in moonlight mode. Barely able to tail stand, with a good amount of lean. It would be nice if the switch cap was recessed a little in relation to the tailcap. Really like this light a lot.
