GearBest sells Olight flashlights, but the site is not mentioned as an online dealer by Olight. I wonder if the lights are fake or genuine. Does anybody know?
I bought 4 Olight S15R’s and 2 S30’s from Gearbest a year or two ago when they were having a big sale. Both S30’s eventually had problems, and I sent them to Olight customer service in the U.S. Olight replaced both for free under their warranty, so I’m thinking they were genuine Olight products.
It’s a hobby charger I’m waiting for but thx for the tip anyway. I opened a ticket gonna give em a day or to and see what the response is then I’ll do the pm. I’m very patient but I really could use the charger so it is an itch I can’t scratch, kinda like the Q8 lol

Idiot proofing something only creates improved idiots.
Gearbest has the weirdest shipping service/procedure for me. Netherlands Shipping in Asia well, if that works efficiently for them, then so be it. How long should I wait for a registered parcel from gearbest to update its tracking status, “the item is pre-advised”?. It is more than a week as of this writing and it still stuck with the same status. Unlike banggood which shows updated tracking status frequently.
I’ve only done one deal with them, 4 Liitokala chargers and one Convoy S2+ and things went without a hitch. This was after reading the thread here about their spotty service. I even reviewed a charger and got some bonus pennies.
I would give them another shot based on my experience. My personal code when dealing with Chinese and Hong Kong sellers, is to not make it a high dollar amount, due to return shipping costs/hassles.
For $32 bucks, if any one/two items shit the bed, I’m not out a lot of cash.
GB ships your products but it pretty much ends there. For warrenty etc you’re screwed if something breaks.
My experience with chinese sellers is that they’re usually helpfull if something goes wrong, don’t know what happend to the GB policy but i guess the owner drives a mercedes.

Not happy at all with GB at this point. Frustrating dealing with them.
Latest shipment is lost. And they refuse to tell me if it has even shipped. Opening tickets is a total waste of time. I’ve opened 3 tickets….
Every time the response I get is ….
We are sorry for your inconvenience. We have contacted the shipper to update your information.
You can re-check your tracking info in 5 – 7 days. (it never updates)
Thank you for your patience.
Meanwhile it’s late and I paid extra for Express shipping.
May have to file a PayPal claim on this one. (I think I used PayPal)
I’m shifting my ordering habits away from China direct and dealing more with US based suppliers whenever possible.
Sure, they get the same stuff from China and charge a bit more, but the assurance of warranty and faster service is usually worth it.
Good luck!
PS… IMO…what US customers really need is to have more of this stuff made here…in America. Pay a bit more…..but save your country as a side benefit.
This is a review i just did for banggood. I find the same applies for gearbest.
I do a lot of shopping at banggood.com. I buy supplies and electronics for my small business. I usually don’t need the items I order right away so I am prepared for about a three week wait if I select free shipping. If my order is large enough, say over $20, upgraded shipping is usually very affordable at just a couple bucks. If I use the first tier of upgraded shipping, my order will arrive between one and two weeks. So if I need my item soon, obviously I’m not going to order from china.
There have been a few times where there were problems with my orders but I have ALWAYS been treated fairly! I’ve read that some complain about being ripped off and being sent through hoops and traps as they try to get it straightened out. I believe this frustration only arises when the buyer does not understand the process. Ordering from china is not like ordering locally. Here in the states, if the buyer has a problem, the seller usually accepts a return with out many questions. It is not like this when buying from china and it is unfair to expect it to be. Therefor, sites like banggood have a process for addressing complaints. If the buyer is patient and goes through this process they will be treated fairly.
If you can understand what it is like buying from china, then I highly recommend shopping at banggood. However, if you expect your product to arrive the next day and to arrive all the way from china without ever having problem with your order, then shop somewhere else.

Same goes for Gearbest.
May you live long and prosper.

You are a flashaholic if you are forced to come out of the closet, to make room for more flashlights.
I get that packages have to travel a long way. Mine never arrived and Gearbest’s only response was to tell me to keep waiting. I filed a complaint with PP to preserve my rights.

Garbest now won’t accept any order from me.
My package never did arrive.
Unno, I ordered quite a lot over the past year or two, and only had one order disappear. Even according to the tracking it was “delivered” (at work; ie, always someone there to receive stuff), yet… nothing. And the day it ostensibly was delivered was Hallowe’en, so it was really easy for people to remember.
Okay, it took some tooth-pulling and threats to have the charge reversed, but they did make good and issue a refund, even with the tracking info saying otherwise.
Location: Acquasanta,Italia/ Valley Forge, Pa. USA
I try NOT to order from China at all. Probably ordered from various dealers in China about 7 or 8 times in Five years. Sometimes the deals are hard to pass up and I take a risk!
I have ordered from GB twice. The first time it took 5 weeks to get here. I just ordered 4 X VTC6 in a flash sale about 10 days ago. I try not to think about the time it will take[at least for now] and hope they arrive. That is the most important part.
Other orders from China included a few Ebay dealers, Banggood and HKE. They all arrived within 2 weeks.
I just ordered some Aspire 18350 from China on June 8th and they arrived in New York yesterday I should have them Wednesday or Thursday.
I would say that GB is my least favorite out of ALL the aforementioned.
I love my Hometown dealer the best! Liionwholsale, also love Illumns,,can not go wrong with either of them.

But there’s no need to wrap your response around mine, like your getting most of orders somehow cancels out the order I never got.
Just saying, everyone rolls snakeeyes every now and again…
Just saying — unless you are trying to look like a fanboy, your getting MOST of your orders has nothing to do with someone else not getting theirs. Or Gearbest’s boorish and uncalled for behavior after I filed a complaint with PP about my never-to-arrive order.
But there’s no need to wrap your response around mine, like your getting most of orders somehow cancels out the order I never got.
If you listen to them and keep waiting or give them a video or whatever, eventually they will give you your refund. And if you can’t fulfill their request, such as provide a video, just be honest and tell them so. If you are reasonable, they will be reasonable as well. Gearbest has some tricks and slides of hand like many other retailers, but their support people are not out to rip off the buyer. Some small stores are above reproach, like mtnelectronics and illum.mits best to buy from them when you can but if you understand the gearbest refund process and trust what they say, you will have a good experience and more money in your pocket.
So far 4(edit: of about 50?) orders of mine did not come. Gearbest eventually refunded all of them. Then 2 of the four actually showed up.
I understand that two peoples experiences can be different so I will urge any readers to concider my opinion as based off of my experience alone.

Incredible. You’re not just a fanboy for these people, you’re a full-on shill who simply will not stop apologizing for them.
You know nothing about my experience or that of anyone else. Yours is irrelevant to mine.
Gearbest didn’t just lose a package. They retaliated against someone who filed a complaint by refusing to do business with him.
The only other voice that is relevant here is that of Gearbest — which has remained silent. You should do the same.
I don’t know why we need to call names? I just post my experience so that readers can evaluate both my 50+ orders and your one order. That’s all.
Hey, that’s all I did. Everyone and his grandmother has way more good experiences than bad. Even with missing/bungled orders, people get it sorted out. None of us got blown off, let alone banned.

Out of a dozen or more orders, I have only received valid tracking info on 3.
The rest I could not get any accurate or meaningful tracking info.
Perhaps they just botched my one account? I don’t know.
It seems that once you have a few problems….if you don’t just sit back and enjoy the ride…they blacklist you somehow.
Asking for information (even politely) is apparently frowned upon on the backend (theirs)
The last order was about two weeks late having paid for express shipping but more importantly was not what I ordered. It was a lesser product.
This is inexcusable.
I’m cutting my losses and moving on. I do believe they had a change in management and it’s been bad for me ever since.
I bought Haikelite MT07 from GB recently arrived in 7 working days via DHL and i only need to pay $3.85 for shipping. awesome!
Never had problem with them in the past excellent records in my book lets hope it stays that way.
Out of numerous orders I had one light arrive DOA & one light had a problematic driver. (Neither the fault of GearBest though) Both ‘problems’ were solved within 24 hours or less.
No hassle, no run around, no endless emails or pictures required. Customer service was a pleasure to deal with also.
They just fixed the problem and gave me some bonus points to for “my trouble” they said.
GearBest gets a 5 of 5 Star Rating from me. A+ …. 100% …

Hello GEARBEST. I do hope you read this thread. I ordered 4 x LiitoKala, 26650 cells and shipped them to a skybox address in the USA. (Shipping to me, is unreliable and quite often takes two months to arrive.) I received a shipping notice for the cells within two days and was thoroughly impressed! However, a few days later, I received another shipping notice for cells and only then, realized that Gearbest shipped one cell, then one cell... This is total bullshit for me because EVERY PACKAGE IS CHARGED TAX,DUTIES AND HANDLING FEES. I can easily expect to pay an additional $20 US for these two cells. *IS THERE ANY WAY TO REQUEST THAT GEARBEST SHIPS ALL ITEMS (FROM THE SAME WAREHOUSE) TOGETHER??*

Thumbs down.

GearBest rarely posts an actual tracking number that you can use.
They provide "tracking" on their site but it's not really tracking.
Customer Service rarely helps.
