Do you ever get a REAL tracking number when you order from GearBest ?

Now it said my package not in database
If i select”auto detect carrier. It said” arrived at sorting place”

Thanks for this tatasal. This one works. I have a DHL tracking number that was "not found" when I try to track it directly at DHL's website but I was able to track it using the website you posted.

Keeping a shortcut to this website for future tracking : -)

Hmm… there must be some irregularities here, I ordered last february 5, and as of this writing February 20, “the item is pre-advised” is still the status. :person_facepalming: Banggood has faster delivery and more status update.

+1 for BG, got”the item is pre-advised” since the 14th feb, and no update since then
really angry, why BG doesn’t have Utorch

Oh, I would’t worry much about that ‘pre-advised’ notice, it happens plenty of times, perhaps the typist simply does not update right away, haha.
Sometimes tracking suddenly updates and jumping to ‘dispatched to country of destination’.

I experienced similar notices a lot of times since I started buying online, regardless who the vendor is.

Free shipping won’t receive “real tracking number”.
For important stuffs, I always added extra $1-2 to get “real tracking number”.

Yeah, they are just shipping info from Unregistered Parcels, invoice shipping record or waybill, which is entirely different, and obviously just that, no tracking information.

USPS even issues shipping label but sometimes does not update promptly even when package already shipped.

i paid extra to get Real tracking number, but all info they provided me is” the item is pre-advised”
meanwhile in banggood. free shipping, real tracking code

THIS

Probably the reason on some orders I never got a real tracking number.

I notice that the ‘pre-advised’ info usually is given by postNL, and some other postal services has different terms about it…IIRC.

All the ones I’ve gotten were real. Sometimes you just have to do your homework in finding out how to track it.

Eg, one recent shipment listed the carrier as “HYTUPS” and its link pointed to www.ups.com. Ummm, no. That site had no idea what the “UP#######” number was, not a clue. (UPS numbers almost always start with “1Z”.)

I raised a ticket, asked whut’s a “HYTUPS”, and got an apology that it wasn’t set up right. The UP-number was in fact the package-ID, and the 9####### number was the real tracking number, which pointed back to Mail Innovations, a carrier that hands off to UPS at some point.

An “R…NL” ID ends up being a PostNL tracking ID. An “R…SG” is Singapore Air. Even though their respective direct sites have, ummm, “issue” with tracking IDs, I found that ‘track.trackingmore.com’ works for both.

International Bridge, an “IB” number, has on its page the “9” number for USPS, which works perfectly.

Anyway, go look at your order, then the tab/link “Track You Shippment”, and you’ll see the link to the carrier and the tracking number for your order. Then do your homework.

Considering this was my first purchase with GB, I was concerned how things played out. I logged into my GB account a few times for updates, and found nothing. After seeing this topic, I looked inside.

I followed your instruction and walked right through to find my order via USPS tracking, that will arrive 02/21/17
Appreciate your walk-through!

:+1:

You wanna talk cryptic, try anything by SunYoo (SYPost). I literally can’t understand the detailed status. Transit country, destination country, etc. It’ll show “arrived at destination country (United States)” on, say, Feb 2, and then “Left transit country” on Feb 8. “In transit (8 days)” means… what?

Good Lord, I have no idea where the package is. If it arrived in the US on the 2nd, and “left transit country” more recently, did it get bounced out of the US??

Guess I’ll end up being surprised when it comes. If it comes.

Thanks for this very informative post. l have that ‘hytups’ tracking too, and can’t figure it out, now l will.

Around 35 orders last year and I always get a real tracking number. :+1: .

Thank you tata, now that is an added peace of my mind for me. And whoever responsible for updating GB’s shipment status should improve their consumer-end tracking service. That is a big no-no especially for some people who closely monitor their orders from time to time

Ok,
Here’s another mystery tracking number from a GearBest order that says shipped out several days ago, but I can’t even find a carrier that relates to this tracking number.

UP14876614422564

Anyone recognize the carrier for this tracking number?

Very helpful. Thanks.
Didn’t occur to me they would bungle the tracking info like that.
They did the same with my order. Some UPXXXXXXXXXXXX number that was not the tracking number at all.
Ticket submitted.
Like someone else said, they should get someone who can correctly enter data.

For batteries and knives, I always get a oddball tracking number. For everything else, Gearbest seems to send my stuff IB. At an average of $2.50 additional cost (which I’ll gladly pay) it’s FAST. I have 3 lights coming IB and betting by next Saturday, I have them all.
