Are there reviews of chinese led bulbs out there?

Hi all!

I’m planning to move to led bulbs and have about fifty of them to replace with a mix of GU10 spot, E14, E27 and legacy B22 bulbs…

I started to try some led bulbs almost height years ago but was very disappointed by the price, the crappy tints and faint output… and short life… Fast forward three years ago when i started to order some bulbs from FT. It was a bit better - at least price wise, but some still had poor tints and would not last very long… when they would not fall apart just unscrewing them. Some of them are still working though. The problem is i lost track of which are which and where i did buy them… and i’m not even sure i could order more of the same now.

So here i am… In between what i can buy locally (over priced branded stuff) and all the chinese more attractive lights, some of which are probably very decent, some certainly to avoid… I need guidance or reviews.

PS: i’m on 220V AC.

Thanks for your input.

I personally highly recommend Sansi LED Lights. I bought two on Amazon and was surprised by its high quality. I just love how bright my kitchen is now and would definitely buy more to replace all the junk in my home. So maybe you can have a try.

I like this one. very bright

I ordered a few of those 15W bulbs to test for outdoor lighting:

They are around $6-$7 and look rather well made. They even show the inside and electronics which is not something you see for cheaper bulbs.

I forgot to mention in the OP that over here regular 220V/75W replacements cost between 7 and 11 euro - with a rather limited choice of tints, shapes and sockets. Higher wattage cost more… so if the above proves good and durable it’s about a 50% saving.

Not 75w replacements, but I bought these at Ikea Toulon

I like those, think they are more like 6W but shine like an old 75W bulb.
Use them outdoor,(24 hour in winter), in a safe, enclosed lamp.

Reviews
Well when w converted to LED we bought local
Carefully selected 3700K for all
Very expensive

And still some just stop working (could be electrical system
Lol one spot needed a new “spaarlamp” every two weeks but the LED bulb I put in there is working for two years so…

Nowadays I buy filament LEDs from AliExpress
Looking sweet.
The local bought have heavy driver part where the AliExpress ones look similar to old fashioned bulb, just glass and filament
I am sure the AliExpress ones are of lesser quality but if a $2 bulb breaks down I don’t mind where a €17,99-€25,99 breakdown really bugs me
I go for warm white and will link some later on the PC of the ones I really like and look fantastic.

However reviewing is tricky since they sometimes are no longer available
The ones sold under the name Rax have not failed me.
And lol I have replaced a few bulbs in the outside lights that still worked but the filament LEDs look so much better. Some are on daily for longer period.

I have enclosed fixtures but using some 8w dollar tree for what isn’t. The chinese bulbs I looked at don’t say if they are OK in enclosed spaces or give a temperature range. I have a sneaky suspicion that the ones with the larger heat-sink would work and the ones with the white ring do not. For cheap bulbs I’d be worried about efficiency and real color temp a la the cloned cree in flashlights.

All the warm whites I have ordered are a very nice tint and they match the 3700k bulbs
About heat, well warmest it gets inside where a couple hang is 35°C but none is really sealed and all have a decent amount of air around them
I go for 4W and the ones I tested did pull 3,2W so well I was happy (we have a lot of lights so I rather have 4*3,2W then higher it works out great.

Nice deal indeed on those 5W bulbs @ 1.5 euro… i could use some of those.
PS: However, aside from this special deal their other led bulbs sell from 6 to 10 euro (400 - 1000 lumen) which is still a bit high, but not so bad for dimable bulbs.
