New Convoy C8 – Clearly better

I’m in a hard decision now. Buy a C8 host and put in TA driver with OP reflector and XP-L2 now.
Or wait for the L2 little brother L1 which is not even has a separate thread. :cry:

The L1 is most likely a long way from being released, so it is more about how long you want to wait.

You are right. I think If I order and get the XP-L2-s my hand will shake over the Buy button for the host :smiley:

C8 is a thrower and S2 is flooder and will fit in you pocket

I want to buy C8 (new) from GearBest but I do not know if it has this new firmware. Do you have any information about this? All new c8 contain new firmware?

Only the clear anodized silver color, with red driver board has the new firmware at Gearbest.

All I can report right now is that Simon is working on the driver issue. There are rev.002 boards at least prototypes and they won’t have the programability issue but as for timing and all else I’m not sure yet. I’ll let you all know when I have confirmation that all is well.

Ask him to release a black one with all the same specs as the clear/silver one. I tried to ask him directly, but he never understood what I was talking about. Just kept asking me for the transaction id number. :person_facepalming: language barrier.

From my personal experience he doesn’t comfirm or deny that he understood what I asked for, he just somehow takes care of it and ships. So I assume if he asked for the transaction, he is ready to ship. Would that make sense?

Not really. I asked him the question, I never created a transaction. Therefore, there is no transaction ID.

I think he’d presume you’ve checked out the Clear version and now would like to have an all black version, but with the upgraded internals, hence asking you for the transaction ID to act upon the request.

Good point. I did not consider that. However, a little clarity would be nice. Especially since he only provides one very brief, vague comment per day.

My opinion of simon is that his convoy products are outstanding, but his ordering process is a mess.

Keep in mind that he’s not a native speaker, his company is small and has few employees (if at all), and his schedule is full to the point of bursting - for the size of the business, Convoy is extremely popular.

Frankly to me, Simon has one of the best customer service in China online portals. While some other sites does reply on a faster rate as they have full time customer service personnel, but it doesn’t solve my problem. All I get out of it is being pass around like a ball or giving me SOP replies, which goes no where.

Simon sees my problem, be apologetic bout it, poof conclusion, problem solved. Right to the point.

As for the ordering system, it’s owned by Aliexpress, he just had a store in it. Just like how a seller in eBay is. Problem arises when there are ‘custom’ orders. But then he’s going the extra mile in the first place trying to accommodate us with that custom order.

On other China websites, you’ll just a quick “Sorry, we don’t do that” response.
