Quickest and most reliable Gearbest shipping method right now: America Line / IB

USPS isn’t deciding any of this- and shouldn’t be involved. When customers pay for expedited shipping & the websites say that is via UPS, then the USPS shouldn’t be involved. And they weren’t. It was IB, not the USPS, who sent the package to San Francisco instead of the East Coast. Now it’s IB who is holding my package- which is supposed to be delivered expedited in 3-5 days- for days in a warehouse “waiting for a flight.” That’s ridiculous! Packages should fly right out. And it’s IB who is choosing to hand my package over to the USPS instead of to a package specialist like UPS. These are all choices that were avoidable mistakes. And I will not be grateful for a 5-week delivery, as I will never use this company again. I simply will not order from anyone who ships via IB. They clearly don’t understand the words expedited shipping. And you, clearly, are working for them.

Hmmmmm…. who are you talking to & who are you working for??

Well... Now that our secret identities have been revealed:

Below is the tracking of my latest order from GearBest. And yeah it was delivered by the USPS by way of International Bridge (IB). While many of my previous orders received through ‘IB’ shipping have indeed sat around their warehouse several days before moving, the last few orders; this one included: have not sat around at all in their warehouse.
As can be seen below the package hit the ‘IB’ warehouse on 2016-12-20 at 11:04:28 and left the ‘IB’ warehouse on 2016-12-20 at 11:57:22

So in the “big scheme of things” this package was in the ‘IB’ warehouse for a grand total of 52 minutes & 54 seconds before it was headed for the USPS in Birmingham, Alabama.

Maybe these last few good delivery time have just been flukes.
Maybe the previous delivery times that were pretty poor were just flukes.

But either way, the last few of mine & the one referenced below; have been pretty darn good. :+1:

Just received another order from GearBest through IB.
7 days from placing order until I had it in my hand. Pretty darn good…. :+1:

I did my first IB order from GearBest, and I was quite impressed with the speed at which it got out of China - one day to process the order, and four more days to get to their warehouse in Alabama!

Unfortunately, the light has been sitting in Alabama at their warehouse for five days so far.

It should only take a day or two to get to me from Alabama, but they are taking their sweet time in getting it shipped out of their warehouse.

I probably should have paid for upgraded shipping. I placed four separate orders from GB in mid-February with the free shipping option. The first order was placed on February 13th. I haven’t received any yet.

Here’s the tracking link from the first order which says it arrived in the US on 2/23:

How long do you guys think I should wait before I reach out to GB? Next time I’ll pick the IB shipping option for sure.

Hmmmm, if it were me I’d give it a bit longer. I have never had a tracking number from GB that looks like yours. It appears it shipped out of Maylasia, which I am sure you know. But it does not say where in the USA it is being held hostage. :frowning:

I personally have been very impressed with GB & the IB option, especially since right around Thanksgiving thru present. I have had at least a dozen packages and IIRC all arrived within 8 to 15 days. Most of them came thru IB too.
I don’t remember ever paying more than .75 cents for the expedited service & I never buy insurance.

Yours will probably sort itself out, just hang in there a while and try to be patient. :+1:
I know that is easier said than done.

Is your sitting in the Huntsville, Alabama warehouse ‘jag-engr’??
It has been my experience with Huntsville that they are either fast as lightening or slow as Christmas. -:open_mouth: … No in between.
I have no idea what makes the difference………. :person_facepalming: -
Good luck………

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll give it a bit more time!

Your welcome. I know it was not much help, but about all you can do now is wait. Most likely given a bit of time all will be well. :+1:

Be prepared to wait… :expressionless: BTW, It’s happened to me TWICE with Int.Bridge B.ullS.hit. My item sat in Alabama for 2 whole weeks. 7 day weeks ! 14 damned days before a breath of life was revealed in tracking. I complained to GB about their crappy IB shipping partner. They said sorry and gave me 200 points…nice of em. BUT i was still pissed about the 2 week siesta in AlaBaMa. :smiling_imp: Needless to say, I won’t be using IB in future so help me Apollo

See, there you go…… a perfect example. Fast as lightening or slow as Christmas in Huntsville, AL IB Warehouse.

Not sure when poor ole ‘Streamer’ had the 14 day nightmare, but there is no excuse for that. :person_facepalming:

But then look up at post #41 in this thread.
I had a package delivered December 22, 2016.
It sat in the Huntsville, Alabama IB warehouse for 52 minutes & 54 seconds ! That is all and obviously a fast as lightening case.

So like anything, it is a crap shoot probably. I can no more tell you that you will have good luck using IB than Streamer can tell you that only bad luck awaits you with IB.

All either one of us can do is share our personal experiences.

I will be placing an order tomorrow with GearBest.
Based on my past several months of good luck using the IB option……. that is how I will have it sent.

I got a response from International Bridge that said, in part:

That didn’t really tell me anything about the delay. According to USPS tracking number they provided, they issued a USPS label five days ago but have still not turned the package over to USPS for delivery. I would assume that a USPS number is only assigned after the package clears Customs, so that would mean they’ve been sitting on the package for five days.

Gearbest can get it to China in four days flat, but International Bridge has so far let it sit in a warehouse for five days. :person_facepalming:

I have an order for a Utorch that I placed on February 14th which also shipped out of Malaysia. My tracking is exactly the same . It arrived in the US on February 23rd and there it sits. I have been wondering if it is stuck in customs or something. IDK.

I will add that this isn’t the norm for my orders with GearBest.

I ordered something else from Amazon that was drop shipped China on February 23rd and it showed up on my doorstep today. According to the tracking information it is still in New York. :person_facepalming:

Bob

Yeah, sounds like they just kinda side stepped your question ‘jag-engr’ …… :person_facepalming:

Below is one of my packages from back in mid January that came thru IB.
Not to shabby………… … It stayed 1 hour 3 minutes 58 seconds in the IB Hunstville, Alabama warehouse.
I guess I have been lucky or fortunate or both.

Funny you say that, my order shipped from Malaysia was an Eagle Eye X2R, but I ordered a Utorch UT01 on February 21st and that was shipped out of China:

So interestingly your Utorch shipped from Malaysia and mine from China. I wonder what their supply chain is like…

Update……….

Everything I said about IB Huntsville, Alabama Warehouse sometimes being as “slow as Christmas” is NOT correct.
I was remembering incorrectly, it was not IB I was remembering either. :person_facepalming:

I went back and checked all my orders that came by way of IB and every one of mine have been handled in a stellar way by IB.

I just wanted to clarify that. The longest an order sat in the warehouse was two days, and that was over a weekend.

So my record with IB is unblemished so far………. :+1:

Interesting. I wonder how this affects the switch lottery.
