Now that’s funny.

Even the train drivers hate them :open_mouth: .

That had to hurt………a lot

caramba, aye caramba!!

that gif loop is mesmerizing lol

Yep, about the same here. :person_facepalming:
As well as the bread isles & milk coolers at all the grocery stores are totally bare at even the threat of snow. It is downright hilarious……

I made that my wallpaper…

Here’s my car when the snow gets heavy

Nice “car”…… :+1:

yeah, same here with the “magic traction” people…

65 in a 35 zone… cigarette in one hand, coffee in the other… talking to passengers and yelling at kids, all while “bluetoothing” on wireless cell phone… on I-C-E around a turn. steering with their KNEES…

you say “anything” you get…

“oh, i have happy traction, dude, its all good!”

==

i inherited my dads Bravada, its basically a BLAZER. it has “magic traction” or whatever… just does 4 wheel drive on and off by itself…

but, i have NOTICED? i cant “brake” and “turn” like my cars i am used to… its, like, driving an elephant around, it feels like.

i dont like to drive it fast even in good weather… i know i cant make it do “cartwheels” and control a high speed skid like a regular car i can do it with in a sudden emergency.

i am suddenly… “driving like an old man”, ha ha.

Man, there’s one car commercial that just plain pisses me off every time I see it. Some pretty-boy’s in the car, starts daydreaming, “Gee, I wonder if I left my curling-iron on…”, and BEEPBEEPBEEP!, lane-departure warning. “Whew… that was close!”. “Wonder if I plucked my eyebrows today… BEEPBEEPBEEP… SCREECH!!!, the car hits the brakes to avoid hitting the car that’s stopped in front of him. ”Whew! That was close, too!“. And so on, and so on, and so on.

These cars are now made for idiots, literally pandering to the lowest common denominator, to let idiots BE idiots behind the wheel, not pay attention, not care about anything, because the car will protect these idiots from themselves.

Like I said, it just plain pisses me off…

Naw, you just don’t outdrive the car…

Loved my ’86 Cavalier hatch. Z24 wheels from an ’88, slightly lowered, KYB struts, always whatever Eagles the cops would run. Car rode like it was on rails. Oh, it was a kidneybuster with the stiff suspension, but damn, that car would go wherever you’d point it, no questions asked. It was a true roadster…

Just the slightest hint of oversteer, so you’d have to watch to make sure the ass-end of the car wouldn’t swing out from under you, and that’d only happen in really slick weather like first-rain.

Had that car 20-something years, too. Def got my money’s worth, several times over.

And it had nothing in it. No ABS, no traction control, no… nothing. Yet I could plow through snow and put the car where I wanted it to go, I was that familiar with it.

But, you learn. You make your mistakes, and hopefully learn from them.

In this one they demonstrate how to use the newest radar to “stop for some gas” when you are fast and furious.

Wellp, bonus points for nailing 2 pumps…

Truer words were never spoken! As far as I am concerned this is all “technology going wild”. IMO, it is pretty sad.

Exactly! You either learn from them, repeat them until you do, or get weeded from the gene pool in the process.

are you telling me its i-m-p-o-s-s-i-b-l-e for that smart car to just LOCK UP and SKID TO A STOP if it malfunctions? and get me run over by a 18 wheeler because it DECIDED to fail getting on a big highway??

I did electronics for years when younger… do not tell me about redundant whatever… if the space shuttle can blow up? that CAR can lock up and get me clobbered by a cement truck.

and anytime a person explains how “impossible” catastrophic fail;ure IS, because of how its designed?

just say “titanic” and walk away from them…lol

No snow here in upstate SC , but that system brought us frost with last night the coldest so it will be a day or two before we know how the budding plants and the farmers fared. Should be our last cold snap so C’MON SPRINGTIME!

Stupid people get stupid prizes.

That was classic!!!

Oh, hey, I'll take a video..

IDIOTS

In my experience there is nothing more beautiful than a heavy snow in Manhattan. I remember walking for hours in the quiet streets, stopping at a french restaurant for soup and wine and arriving home rejuvenated by the beauty of such a day. Enjoying hot coffee @ Dunkin Donuts while outside it is freezing cold. Amazing that CVS, KeyFoood, DunkinDonuts, 24hourfitness , Asian restaurant, the Latin American Pizza Parlour, Irish pub …! though it was snowing, were all open with smiling staff
Without these friendly staff how can we live in NYC? How will the life go on? How many of them are born here or have advanced degrees?

And, if it weren’t for “bad” weather, we wouldn’t appreciate “good” weather.

It is the struggles in life, and death, that gives life meaning.

Just ask Adam and Eve.

Absolutely. There is nothing more beautiful than freshly fallen snow. Falling snow in the woods is surprisingly loud. It is incredible. You have to be far enough from “civilization” to hear it though.

Taking a hike a couple of days later in the woods and you can read the entire story of what is going on in that wood lot in the freshly fallen snow. One of the best things I saw is where a bird of prey, I think it was an owl, had snatched a rodent up off of the snow. You could see the impressions of the feathers in the snow.

Bob

The sun, the moon, the darkened sky,
The morning dew reflecting in my eye,
The rising mist, the dampened earth
Are just reminders of what life’s worth.
