I actually saw the tag for that deal, but the shelf was empty.
Actually, there are tons of stuff on clearance right now. After the lull we had, there is now a storm of good stuff!
AND, Spring Black Friday is coming up at the end of the week. Stuff is already being put on the floors.
I got a couple of peeks. How about a Ryobi 18V weed wacker, battery and charger for $49.00?
Same for an 18V Ryobi Blower, it also comes with battery and charger, $49.00
If the story on the Bosch GLM10X was a horror story, this next one is a fairy tale.
First a review.
On or around last Black Friday, HD came out once again with their small 10 inch tool bag. Initial price was $4.88, which isn’t bad.j A couple of years ago I caught them on clearance and bought quite a few and used them for Christmas stockings. Just put the gifts inside, zip it up and stick a bow on it. Done! 
Well, this year when they came out I kept my eye on them, waiting for the clearance!
When they went to $3.70, I kept waiting………….
Then a few weeks ago I came across this empty shelf. :cry:
There, they had dropped down to $2.54, but they were all gone!
That’s why, a couple of days later at another store when I saw this, I struck.
I carried out 8, then came back in for 10 more. When I returned a third time, they were all gone. Just like that!
So I got 18.
They next day I texted 3 friends asking them how many they wanted. The numbers came in, 4 then 10 and finally 4. That totals all 18, none for me!
In the other stores I had been in since, everyone was sold out.
And each time I was in that first store, the one with the empty shelf, I would always see that empty shelf and the sticker for $2.54 
Then, just like in a fairy tale, a couple of days ago while I was in that same store, I saw this :) :)
So, the first thing I did was pull the sticker!
Here’s why.
That replaced sticker meant that this store still had stock If they were all sold out, the MET person would see that and not place the sticker. I removed the sticker because I didn’t want anybody else searching for those bags also.
I did the wise thing, I went over to flooring and asked that guy to check for stock. He looked it up on his scanner and told me there were 16, but they “had no home”
I knew that meant they could be anywhere. I already knew they were not on the floor somewhere so they had to be in an overhead. So things were “looking up”
I finally found some, only 7, in the overhead in plumbing.
So, once I found them, I had the guy from electrical go up and pull them down for me.
Once I paid for them, and got the receipt, I went over to customer service and got refunded the difference on the 18 I bought for my friends.

Refunding the 18 to my card at $2.54 each
Buying the 18 back at $1.32 each
Now that’s an idea………………
Actually I bought 41. One friend took 12, another 10, another 4 leaving me with 15.
I put one set in the basement, 1 in the garage, 1 in the shed, 1 in my van and I spread the rest at some other properties.
Still leaving me a few for emergencies.
Digging the way you worked that dcho. There is method in your madness. I would say "to" instead of "in", but that isn't as fun.
EDIT: I was responding to the going to electrical, then the other unrelated department (flooring), etc. post. Quite clever.
On top of being Crazy, I’m paranoid too.

LOL one of the ones I found had a security tag on it. I bought it at the SCO and walked over to another register and had the lady remove the tag for me. She knows who I am, I work in a hospital so I always have scrubs on every morning I go. She uses the hospital I work at and has had really good experiences there, so she has removed several tags for me and has never looked at a receipt.
Can I ask why they might not remove the tag? Couldn’t you show them the receipt to show it was purchased? Sorry for my ignorant questions…
They aren’t supposed to sell penny items, like DCH mentioned I was also in my “home store” I would rather no one know I even know about .1 deals.
Some stores won’t allow you to purchase them either, management gets involved causing a ruckus.
Stopped into HD yesterday and found a great deal. In the isle they had Husky brand Tactical knee pads for $3.83 marked down from $14+
Very interesting because I was in the store Saturday morning and walked down that isle looking to see if they had any of the $4 tool bag with no success. The tool bags are directly opposite of the knee pads and they had 2 boxes of them both with bright yellow stickers. No way I could have missed it. I have yellow sticker radar these days.
One thing I’m noting with my local store is that they sometimes do not send items to the clearance isle and they will literally show up on the floor with a .02 or .03 price out of the blue. My gut tells me that they were up in the overhead and an employee discovered them. I’m going to keep an eye on them because they may not sell out before the next price reduction.
On the other hand my clearance rack has grown stagnant. They really stacked it about a month ago, but nothing is moving, selling, or prices changing.
There are some really old items in there from 2016 that have not even come close to reaching the .02 or .03 price. So i think they are leaving clearance items on the floor because there just isn’t room in the clearance area.
Also picked up a milwaukee 16ft tape measure for $6. Once again in the isle and not the clearance area. I think they have been $6 since xmas. I was hoping it would ring up lower but it did not. It looks like they have not been selling because they have been at that price for a while. Probably the best $6 tape measure you will ever get… but I’d rather it be the best .01 tape measure I ever bought. Still batting .000 though on penny deals.
I managed to score ten of the 10 inch Husky tool bags for $1.32 yesterday. I went to my work store and struck out, but had them check stock. They found 19 at another store 15 minutes away, so I took a chance and scooted on my lunch. Found them in the overhead and had an employee pull them down for me. I’m not sure what I’m going to use these for, but I almost want to go back and get the rest.

I feel your pain, since we both shop at the same exact store. I never notice any deals like what’s posted in the thread. I think our store is an exception to the rule.

Once you realize how handy they are, you’ll find that you barely have enough for your own needs.
Today I found another 18 of these tool bags! Of all places, they were at my hometown store in an overhead.
I found out from another store 5 miles away that they had 17. On the way home I stopped in and started looking. I recognized the Red tray that they are displayed in here.
From another angle with the guy going up to get them. He was surprised they were there and said he would put any that I didn’t buy on the floor next to the register anyway, so I took them all.

Even though stock showed they had 17, in reality there were 18.
I just can’t help noticing, after having suffered my loss with the first 18 going to friends
That like Job in the Old Testament,
“the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before.”
BTW, 8 of these recent 18 are going to yet another friend.
The real lesson here is, to quote Michael Jordan, “If you do the work, you will get the reward”
The work being going to Customer Service with the SKU number and asking them to check for stock in stores in the area.

It’s funny, a couple of posts ago I was soooooo pleased with myself by deducing that my local store had more of the bags in stock even though the shelf was bare.
As Lasy-R-us schooled us on, is all you have to do is ask.
Well, yesterday I asked! I asked customer service to check for stock in local stores for 2 items.
1001-397-206 The 10’ Husky bag ($1.32)
1001-396-908 The 850 Lumen Defiant 3C flashlight ($3.32)
The guy behind the service desk told me all stores are out of stock, EXCEPT for the store in Orange, CT
They had 39 of the bags and 29 of the flashlights. WOW!
So I went outside and checked the distance to that store, 23 miles. I’ll travel that far, no problem.
When I got there 20 minutes later I first checked the floor for either item. I didn’t expect to find them, and I didn’t. Then I started checking the overheads for 2 large boxes. From the numbers, 39 and 29, it sounded like I should be looking for full unopened cases.
I couldn’t find the flashlights, but I did find the bags. Here they are in isle 9 of hardware.
So I asked a guy to pull them down for me while I went to get a flat bed.
There it is, the whole display, it had never been set up.
I’m sure some here (most) think I’m crazy. This should remove any doubt.
10 to a flat and 4 flats on the flat bed!
As I went up to the register, the girl saw me and exclaimed “You FOUND them, WHERE were they?”
I answered “YOU know about these?” and she said yes, we ALL know about these, WHERE were they??
Just then another guy came over and said, yes we have been looking all over for these, we knew we had them, but couldn’t find them.
I offered to leave some, but everyone declined.
Then I asked him if he knew about the flashlights, he quickly asked if I meant the 850 Lumen 3C Defiants. I said yes. He told me they have been looking for those too. So I paid for the bags, that whole flatbed worth cost $52.80 :innocent: and left them with the checkout girl while the HD guy and I searched the entire store, high and low. He seemed as excited as I looking for them.
I learned a few things from him as we searched. For instance, inventory showed 39 bags even though there were 40 in the case. 1 is subtracted from the actual 40 to be displayed. That meant we were looking for a full box of 30 flashlights, because inventory showed 29.
Also the box would have the number 25 on it in big numerals indicating that it was meant for hardware.
AND, the HD guys on the floor with their hand scanners can check when an item was last sold. In the case of the 3C Defiant, one was last sold a week ago.
We spent a half hour together looking. Of course he had to break off and I spent another half hour checking the rest of the store.
I know what size box to look for and the markings it should have, but I just couldn’t find it. :cry:
Those flashlights are what I REALLY wanted, but all I got was the bags.
WHAT AM I GOING TO DO WITH ALL?
I did manage to get them all to fit.
Why everyone needs at least 10 of these small tool bags. 
1. It’s a tool bag!.
2. For a small job one can be used to carry the specific tools and parts to do the repair at the site.
3. Use one for your prepacked “go” bag.
4. Use one for your toiletries on a vacation.
5. Use one for your tablet, charging cables, powerbanks, electronics, etc.
6. Keep your favorite flashlight, charger and batteries in one.
7. Use one as a man purse.
8. Carry one in the car to stuff receipts in for tax purposes.
9. Use one for a lunchbox.
10. In my van I have one setup with a boost charger and cables, one with some 12v droplights, one to carry my registration and insurance papers. I have another in the back of the van with safety flares and warning signs. Another is full of bungee cords, etc. etc,
does anybody have any other ideas?
I would like also note how easy it was for you to thank him for his efforts. It's amazing how simple that is...
If I ever get the time to go and get lucky enough to find a deal like that, I will buy us all a few.

Picked these up this AM, saw the date on the box and checked one of the lights and it was a penny…. Sooooo I went back to the clearance rack and a MET team guy was standing there scanning stuff. Soooo I started talking to him about the incoming inclement weather, while talking to him I loaded the rest of those lights into my cart and once we finished our conversation I headed to the SCO… Lucky for me no one was around because certainly they would have offered to help as these boxes were very big. So I scanned em all (which was a challenge due to their size, I wish they would add a handheld scanner to the SCO lol) and walked out!
I was there checking on some area rugs at the 4 and 3 price, and saw these lights. Also DCH that compressor you posted is not clearence here, I need one to air up tires and such. SO I will have to watch out for it. I know where a bunch of these lights are at another HD but they are up in the overhead and I would not be able to climb up and get them without drawing some attention.
The screenshots are only Dewalt and Husky clearance, I was looking for some of those tool bags (not that I need any).

Just from an organisational standpoint i would buy everyone also. I struggle with places to store power tool accessories, blades, bits, etc. I have tons of shelving, but most jobs happen away from shelves… Unless you’re building shelves of course.
Likewise in the house being able to organise small stuff. The sheer amount of small things like adapters and chargers i cant seem to ever organise is astounding.
If i had 100 of those bags, i could find a use for them all.
If i find any I’m going to use them for my growing army of RC toys. Bins just aren’t easy to carry around.
There had to go back and add photos, the first batch I put up was all the same photo of the receipt.
