sorry, I wasn't clear. when I checked, shipping was 13.50 for 1 and 13.50 for 10

Wow nice beamshots, you got the right mod man! I am pretty sure there is still room for greater lux number, you need to tweak the led and its position. I am getting more lux @4amp,i got almost 100.000 lux, at first i was at about ~80.000 too. With an olight M31 modded to xm-l, i am almost reaching 80.000 and this is achieved with a smaller diameter flashlight, same depth reflector. I am waiting a new reflector for my trustfire, to test. I ordered the classic 73mm DX reflector, it should be deeper. Also, you can try to dedome a led, to see your lux numbers getting double(but less total lumens!!!)

With the new reflector, a better dedomed led plus a UCL, i want to make it to more than 200.000 lux.

The SST-90 reflector from dx don´t fit ;)

I have testet it.

Position of LED is best i can do and i have tested much positions ;) , maybe my Luxmeter is a little bit underreading.

This is something similar of what you want to do: Franken Mag Shorty --XML King of Throw --127,000 lux @ 1 meter | Candle Power Flashlight Forum

Well that might be true!Do you have any other "famous" flashlight that you can measure to tell the results?

The reflector doesn't really fit? Oh man.... I am waiting for it! Why it doesn't fit?In height or diameter?Do you think any possible mod to fit it? :)

Height of the SST-90 reflector should be not really a problem, upper diameter also not, but diameter is everywhere too big. ;)

With the SST-90 reflector i measured 92000 Lux, but with old LED from DX.

I think that i understand what you say, do think it is easy to trim the reflector at these points? I guess you would have done it already right? Hope to get it soon to see it, trimming the reflector plus the head inside, i might get some room to fit it!

Else a new host is needed....!

Where on earth did you find the other reflector? (not the DX SST90 although 92K lux is good!)

Where do you source these parts and what batteries are you running in that beast! You should seriously change your forum name to Max Candela or something! That soo rocks! Love the beamshots, absolutely love them!

The X7 i bought at ebay for ~$63

Batteries: bl./w. Solarforce (in my X7 only one needed)

Reflector is original, but with a 13mm drill enhanced, because for optimal focus a XM-L i need a position, where i have rings in beam with orig. hole.

Brilliant beamshots !!!! (pun intended)

I will be keeping my eyes out for an X7 now. What a very well-done mod.

Have you considered having the whole thing Cerakoted (baked ceramic coating) in a crazy color like WHITE or ORANGE ? That would be amazing.

Darn, now I just talked myself into a white DRY...I need to stay away from this forum.

Hehe,

HERE is the cheapest offer, i found. ;)

Tip for focusing the LED: there are two versions of this flashlight, one have a 5mm deep Pill, the other a 4,4mm deep Pill.

The 5mm Version need a 1,75-1,8mm Spacer under the LED (e.g. empty fittet Heatsink board), the 4,4mm Version a 1,35-1,4mm thick Spacer. (my experience) ;)

...but then, for a beam without rings, reflector must me changed.(13mm hole) ;)

Oh, i ever forget, i use a UCLp Lens, if you use the original Lens, the Spacer should be 1mm less. ;)

I hate you so much right now.

Thanks very much for the link.

Where can I find a UCLp lens and what does it cost in that size?

Thank you in advance for helping so much, you are the :crown:

I bought the biggest UCLp Lens at flashlightlens and "fritz15" changed the diameter with his engine lathe.

Once i changed the diameter by hand, it works, but it´s stressful. Done with printed template, a saw and a rasp. ;)

What is the stock lux on the X7/T8? For some reason I haven't seen much about this light, have I been living in a cave somewhere? In stock configuration, will this out-throw a Solarforce MPP-1?

This light can be purchased from a US seller on eBay for $69 shipped. If this does much more than 50k (or am I just dreaming on that number??) lux stock then it may be my next purchase.

This comes with the SST-80, but the XML will produce more throw?

See post 1. ;)

....43800 Lux

Your post references an SST-50 though, I believe the updated (?) version I posted is an SST-80?

By hand? Motherf***er! That is old school! I so admire the tenacity of that!

(Still drooling when I scroll past your beamshots!)
