Let there be light.

Hi guys.
My first post on what look to be a pretty cool forum.

So i have a couple of flashlights :open_mouth: a Manker U 21 and A Nitecore P 36.
And the P36 or at least its small batteries have begun to annoy me a little, or maybe i am just looking for a reason to get a new toy ( otherwise i think the P 36 is a okay flashlight )
And since i just got the Manker U21 and some 26650 batteries for it, i have been thinking about upgrading the P36 to something else.

So i am looking for a flashlight that will take 26650 batteries, one or two of them, but maybe even a flashlight that can be used as a illuminated louisville slugger will have my interest.

Beam profile i would like to keep as the P36 which i think is is a profile in between thrower and flood.

O but as a retired guy i am not loaded, so keeping the prize in mind is also something i have to do the rest of my life.

ATM i only have some 4200 MAH Efest batteries ( the purple ones ) for the U 21, but i am looking for more and larger cells too, something like 5 - 5200 MAH which to my understanding is about the max for worthwhile batteries anyway.

Just drop some brand/model names on me and i will take care of the rest myself, but if you feel like elaborating too then be my gust as i have nothing but time to spend on online forums.

Welcome to BLF!

Keep an eye on the want to sell/trade section, mighty nice things for good prices

Convoy L6
Convoy C8
ThorFire s70s

Convoy L6 is the best “bang for the buck” item that I have purchased in the past several years. And that is not just flashlights, but everything I spend my money on. Lots of lumens, good throw and usable flood, well spaced modes, solid build, nice weight (Louisville slugger type). I’m in love with this light. Uses 2 26650 batteries. Get you some Liitokala 26650s if you want the best value. Welcome to the forum!

That brand of batteries don’t seem to be sold over here in EU-ville, but i will keep my eye out for them on my travels on the web.

Hey sparkyDK, welcome to BLF! Indeed Convoy L6 is certainly something I would recommend as well. This thing is just amazing. Close to 4000 lumens with amazing machining and anodisation for 50 bucks.

Yeah the Convoy L6 do indeed look as one of the current high rollers, but do keep them coming im afraid to miss out on something.
And for fiddy dollars it make me thing how others can charge so much for their higher end flashlights, some prizes i see almost make me fall out of my office chair.

Well, the ThorFire S70S is very comparable to the L6; minor differences, but overall performance is about the same. Then you have the Jaxman X6 Hunter (same form factor as the L6) with either the XHP50 or the XM-L2. Less lumens but more throw due to smaller led.

Convoy l6, l2,c8
Thorfire s70,s70s. The s70s can be had around $40 shipped on aliexpress with the discounts.
Eagle eye x9 4000 lumens around 50-60$ I believe just released.

The s70 is a couple hundred grams heavier. Making it a better club and doesn’t get scortching hot.

I actually to my s70 with 2 26650 cells on Halloween with me with my 2 year old, 3month old and wife around the different areas. For that exact reason I could use it as club and can blind anyone I needed to as well. The light is so solid, a skull will crack before it hurts the light.
I actually blasted a car of teenagers with it that night driving crazy down the street right when the barricades were being removed. (90% of people were gone. Made them go off the road and slow down after that. (It was just us on that side road going back to the truck. No others around for a couple hundred yards.)
But yes 4000 lumens to the face will blind a car or anyone you need to and 1lb of solid aluminum skull crushing power.
