Test/review of GTL 26650 12000mAh (White)

GTL 26650 12000mAh (White)

Official specifications:

  • Model: 26650

  • Type: Rechargeable Li-lithium battery

  • Capacity: 12000mAh

  • Voltage: 3.7V

  • Max Continuous Discharge: 8A

  • Max Peak Discharge: 4A Peak lower than continuous?

  • Size: about 66*25*25mm

  • Colour: White

Super high capacity 26650, again a battery with wrong specifications.

There is significant difference between the two batteries and the capacity is 2000 and 2200mAh at low current. The batteries can handle up to about 7A.

At 7A the A cell get warmest.

At 10A it is the B cell.

Conclusion

These cells where never going to be anywhere near the rated capacity, instead they have less capacity than most other 26650 cells.

I will call them bad cells.

I read 12000mAh and know before clicking that cannot be true
Do you think they are dangerous besides bad ?

I would expect them to be more dangerous than brand name cells, but I do not know how much (The have considerable less stored energy).

It would be very interesting to open one of these.
2000-2200mAh is the normal capacity for cheap no name 18650s - maybe it’s just a 26650-looking 18650?

At least they make false claim. So we can easily avoid
If they make a 26650 5000mah 3$, i think i will give it a try, and be dissapointed

Like those nigerian spam letters - purposefully worded with spelling mistakes so that smart people immediately know it’s a scam and don’t bother reading.

I may get around to that when the weather gets warmer.
